Chapter 617
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Chapter 617
Edmund swallowed back what he was about to say to greet Jeremy.
âWelcome back, Mister Jeremy.â
âThank you. Take us out of here now,â Jeremy said coldly.
âWait,â said Corinne. She turned to look at Jeremy and said angrily, âMister Jeremy, why did you drag
me into your car? Iâm going to get out if you canât give me a good reason!â
Jeremy did not look at her. Instead, he lowered his eyes and took out an exquisite metal cigarette
holder from the inner pocket of his suit jacket. He opened the holder with his slender fingers, plucked
out a cigarette, and tapped it on the holder out of habit.
âWhy? Do you find yourself disgusted to be sitting in my car?â Jeremy asked mockingly. The way he
spoke made it obvious to Corinne that he was itching for a fight.
She frowned unhappily and said, âI didnât mean it that way. Itâs just I donât want anybody to get the
wrong idea. Itâs not like weâre close enough to share the same car.â
âWeâre. Not. Close. Enough. Man, this girl really knows where to hit for it to hurt!â thought Jeremy.
He did not light up his cigarette. Instead, he looked at her coldly and said, âI dare you to repeat that
weâre not close enough. Have you forgotten that weâve shared the same bed before?â
He hinted at that fateful night when they had no choice but to sleep together.
Shame turned to anger.
Corinne wanted to curse him, but her anger turned to shock when she looked at Jeremyâs face.
âHow⦠How did you get hurt?â
There was a bruise at the corner of Jeremyâs lips and an obvious wound on his left brow. The most
serious of his injuries was his left eye, which was bleeding internally.
âWhat happened? Who would dare to hurt him so badly? Arenât they afraid of the repercussions?â
wondered Corinne.
Jeremy did not seem to mind his injuries. He simply said indifferently, âItâs nothing. I just happened to
bump into something.â
-Corinne glared at him. âOh, please. What could you possibly bump into to hurt yourself like this?â
Jeremy glanced at her and chuckled coldly. âWhy do you sound so surprised? Werenât you the one who
spilled coffee all over your hair?â
Corinne was speechless. âUgh! Heâs so annoying!â
âI donât care what happened to you, but you should go to the hospital since your eye is bleeding.â
Even though Corinne said that out of kindness, there was still an inexplicable tightness and discomfort
in her heart
Jeremy narrowed his eyes and said, âFine, Iâll listen to you. Letâs both go to the hospital for a check-up.â
âBoth?â
An alarm bell went off inside Corinneâs mind. âIâm not hurt, so why do I need to go too?â
Jeremy stared quietly at her before his gaze traveled slowly down her flat stomach. After two seconds
of
silence, he said meaningfully, âTo see if you have in your possession something that rightfully belongs
to my family.â
