Chapter 625
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Chapter 625
Meanwhile, Corinne came home in a taxi.
Throughout the whole taxi ride, her mind flitted between Jeremyâs injuries, the look he gave her before
she left, and the misunderstanding between them.
âGah! This is so frustrating! she thought.
Mimi came to rub her legs as soon as Corinne entered the door..
Corinne changed into her indoor slippers before scooping Mimi up and burying her head against its fur.
Only then did she feel a bit better.
Aaron was brewing coffee in the kitchen. Seeing her back home, he asked, âWhy are you back so
early? Did you get anything out of the party?â
Corinne sat down on the sofa with Mimi in her arms and leaned back lazily. âYeah, I did.â
Although she was forced into being the Lovelacesâ honorary granddaughter, it could still be counted as
getting something out of the party since it would be easier for her to look into all that happened in the
Lovelace family.
Aaron sensed something was off about her so he asked, âThen why do you look so sad?â
âIâm just tired,â Corinne replied weakly.
Aaron passed her a glass of warm milk. âWhatâs the matter? Did you dance too much at the party?â
Corinne accepted the glass of milk but not before rolling her eyes at him. She then took a sip of the
milk and told him everything that happened at the OB-GYN department.
Aaron raised his brows in alarm after hearing her story. âSomeone must have tampered with the blood
test result but who could it be?â
Corinne scoffed. âIf I guessed correctly, it should be Anya. After all, only she would do something like
this.
After thinking about it, Aaron nodded in agreement. âActually she has helped you in a way. If not,
Jeremy would have found out youâre carrying his kid!â
Corinneâs eyes darkened. âYeah, youâre right.â
âWell, he already thinks weâre married so we might as well let him think youâre carrying my baby. Itâs the
perfect setup to dispel any suspicions he might have of us.â
âHeâs right again, but,â Corinne looked down listlessly at her hands as the milk in her mouth became
bitter.
Aaron knew she was down so he moved closer to her and asked, âBe honest with me, boss. You still
care about him, right? Thatâs why youâre sad that he thinks youâre a loose woman.â
Corinne could not bring herself to tell him just how hurt she was. Ever since she was young, she never
cared about what others thought of her so she did not understand why she cared so much about what
Jeremy thought of her.
âUghhhh!â Not wanting to think about Jeremy anymore, she changed the topic. âIt doesnât matter
anymore. Aaron, Iâm hungry. Go make something for me to eat!â
âSure thing!â Aaron did not dare to pry any further into her love life so he quickly went to the kitchen but
on the way, he said, âBy the way, this yearâs World Hacker Conference will be held here. I heard
Ghostlord is going to attend too. Do you want to go?â
âGhostlord! The worldâs number one hackerâ thought Corinne. He was her idol and she always wished
to
meet him. She was not in a good mood lately so she thought she should cheer herself up by going to
see her idol. âAnd if I donât get to see him. Well, Iâll just take it as a way to get my mind off things.â
âYes, letâs go! Where is the venue going to be?â Corinne asked.
