Chapter 728
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Chapter 728
Once Anya saw Corinne hanging up the phone, she beamed her signature âIâm so kindâ smile at her
again. âCorinne, you sure are one busy woman. Was that a guy who called?â
Corinne put away her phone, grabbed a cushion from the sofa, and hugged it to herself. âYeah, it was
indeed a guy,â she said languidly.
A hint of ridicule flashed across Anyaâs doe-like innocent eyes. âDoes Jeremy know that youâre still in
contact with other guys?â
Corinne yawned and said, âMost probably not.â
âHe doesnât? Thatâs not good. Rumors will spread like wildfire if words get out about you inviting a man
over while Jeremyâs is outside working.â
Corinne turned to look at Anya with her brow raised. âMiss Anya, are you threatening me right now?â
âOf course not. Why would I ever threaten you? Iâm just being nice enough to warn you of the
consequences,â said Anya sweetly.
Corinne smirked. âFine. It doesnât matter whether youâre threatening me or warning âcause I donât care
if you tell everyone you know that Iâve invited a man over. In fact, you can even call Jeremy and tell him
now if you want.â
Seeing Corinne not panicking caused Anya to secretly grit her teeth in anger. Anya actually well aware
Corinne was not hiding any improper relationship since she was bold enough to ask a guy over the
house. The only reason she said what she said just now was to rile her up but alas, she did not
succeed in doing that.
âCorinne, donât get me wrong. Iâm not the type to spread rumors about other people and donât worry, I
wonât tell Jeremy either,â said Anya with a smile.
âHuh! Sheâs not the type to spread rumors about other people? As if! She must be plotting something
againâ¦â thought Corinne. After throwing Anya a side-eye, she decided not to prolong the conversation
anymore.
Thus, it was a good thing that at that moment a servant came in with her takeout in hand. â Maâam,
your delivery order has arrived.â
Corinne nodded. âThanks. You may leave it here.â
The servant put the takeout on the coffee table and left the living room. After throwing off the cushion,
Corinne went to unwrap her food. âMiss Anya, do you want some?â
Anya threw a disgusted glance at the takeout before squeezing a fake smile on her face, saying, âNo,
thanks. Iâm quite full already.â
Corinne smiled nonchalantly at her and said, âThen if you donât mind, can you please go away? I donât
like to have an audience while Iâm eating.â
The fake smile on Anyaâs face stiffened. âUmmâ¦â
At that moment, Francine entered the living room and said, âAnya, why are you sitting there with
Corinne? Come here. Donât you know those cheap takeouts are made with ingredients that had gone
bad? You wouldnât want to get sick from them, would you?â
She then pulled Anya up from the sofa and dragged her out the living room but before they
left, Anya managed to shove the glass of milk into Corinneâs hand.
