Chapter 746
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Chapter 746
Corinne got up and ran out, worried that Jeremy might get in the car and leave if she was too
late.
Annie looked out of the glass window and chased after her too.
âMister!â
Jeremy was about to lean over to get into the car when he heard a familiar voice. He then stopped and
turned, only to see Corinne trotting toward him quickly and jumping slightly to hug him as soon as she
came up to him.
Jeremy positioned his body to support her and grasped her firmly. âWhy are you here at this hour?â
Corinne wrapped her hands affectionately around his neck. âWaiting for you at home bored the hell out
of me, so I decided to come fetch you once you get off work!â
Jeremyâs stern black eyes were filled with warmth. âFetch me from work? That virtuous, huh?â Corinne
rested her head on the manâs shoulder and snorted, âArenât you happy?â
Jeremy smiled. âYes, I am. Itâs not often that my woman will fetch me on her own accord, but you canât
just leave home like this in your condition. Just wait for me at home next time. Iâll go home straight after
work.â
Corinne tightened her hug on his neck and refused. âWhatâs wrong with my current
condition? Iâm pregnant, not sick! And besides, Iâm not that fragile. The doctor said itâs good. for the
baby if the mother doesnât laze around. That way, our child will be healthy and strong!â The man
frowned. He was not worried about her exerting herself with her daily movement, but his main fear was
that something might happen to her outside. After all, a lot of people were targeting the Holdens, and
he was worried that she might be in danger if those people targeted her.
Jeremy could not do anything about it, so he held her and placed his palms on her head. He did not
want to be too stern with her for the moment and felt that it would be better for her to talk about it once
they return home.
The security guards who escorted Jeremy out were shocked. They had been in the company for many
years, but they had never seen such a gentle expression on his face before. It was truly an eye-
opening moment for them.
Tommy was still waiting on orders, so Jeremy glanced up and said to him, âLeave the car with me. You
and the driver can clock off now.â
âYes, sir.â Tommy looked at the reconciled couple and felt a wave of emotion in his heart. After nodding
in acknowledgment of Jeremyâs order, he opened the front passenger seat and informed the driver that
they could leave.
Jeremy walked over with Corinne in his arms and placed her safely in the front passenger seat. He
fastened her seat belt and asked, âDidnât you say you were going to treat me to something delicious?
What are we eating today?â
Corinne cocked her eyebrow. âI thought I sent you the address? Just go straight there!â
Jeremy closed the car door for her, walked over to the driverâs side, and got in. He started the engine
and was about to press his foot on the accelerator when someone got in the rear seat. Annie folded her
arms, frowned, and said with a reprimanding look, âYouâre so mean, Uncle Jeremy! Why didnât you tell
me that you and Corinne got back together?â
Jeremy looked up at the rearview mirror to look at Annie, who had gotten into the car without his
permission. âAre you my elder? Why do I have to report everything to you?â
Annie scoffed immediately. âWell, you have to! I was so worried that youâd get depressed and do
something stupid because Corinne wasnât around. I wouldnât have been so worried if I knew earlier that
the two of you reconciled and got together!â
âGet depressed and do something stupid?â Jeremyâs expression soured. âWell, now you know. If thereâs
nothing else, please get out of the car and go home!â
Annie did not intend to leave at all. âI heard that you were going to have dinner with Corinne, and I
happen to be famished too. Iâm coming along!â
Jeremy said impatiently, âIf youâre hungry, you can get out of the car and eat dinner at home!â Annie
pouted unhappily and ignored him. She turned to Corinne and pleaded, âCorinne! Uncle Jeremy isnât
letting me tag along! But youâll let me come with you two, right?â
Corinne kept quiet. She actually felt a headache coming on because Annie was probably still thinking
about asking her to help chase Aaron.
