Chapter 758
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Chapter 758
âNo, Iâm saying even if you have the time to come find me earlier, you still wouldnât have a chance with
me,â Corinne answered.
Jason did a double take before smiling ruefully. âYou make it sound like Iâm a horrible personâ¦
â
âYou could be the best person in the world and I still wouldnât be with you. Thatâs how much I love
Jeremy,â said Corinne serenely.
Jason gazed deeply at Corinneâs upturned side profile. âSo he makes you happy, huh?â
Corinne nodded. âYes. And I wouldnât have it any other way.â
âTell me, do you think he feels the same way as you? Is he not splitting his time with another woman?â
Jason asked mockingly.
Corinne finally turned to look at him with a frown. With his foxy eyes, Jason gestured for her to look at a
place not far away. She followed his gaze and saw Jeremy sitting alone in the empty room with his ear
glued to his phone.
Only Anya would call him at a time like this.
âWell, itâs not like he has a choice. I mean, Anya did save his life before. Itâd be ungrateful of him if he
didnât take her call,â said Corinne after a while.
âSo Iâve guessed right. Youâre not a hundred percent sure he only has you in his heart,â said Jason with
a smirk.
Corinne gave him a stink-eye. âWell, I wouldnât say âonlyâ, but Iâm confident I take up most of the space
in his heart.â
âOh, really?â
Corinne did not like what Jason was doing, so she ignored him and turned her attention back to the
blue fireworks in the sky.
Jason, too, turned his head up to look at the blue fireworks in the sky. âNo matter how strong or
independent a woman thinks she is, sheâll eventually lose herself in a relationship. Corinne, I know
Jeremy longer than you do, so I can tell you with certainty that heâs not the type to throw himself into a
relationship. Youâll come to eventually see just how ruthless he can be.â
Corinne did not like to hear other people speak ill of Jeremy, so she looked sharply at him and said,
âWhat about you, Mister Talbot? Does it make you the good guy to be spouting all this nonsense to
me? How can you betray your friend like this? Are you out of your mind?â
Jason was stunned by her accusation, but he quickly arranged his expression into a smile. â1 might not
be the good guy in this case, but I can assure you I donât have any savior to pander to. You only have
to say the word, and Iâll give you my whole heart. What do you say?â
Corinne rolled her eyes at him. She could not stand how insufferable he was. Not wanting to talk to him
for a second longer, she turned around and made her way back to the room.
Jason was to call her back but stopped himself. His eyes followed her until she came to stand beside
Jeremy, and only then did he turn around to look the other way.
Suddenly, Zeke put his arms around him. âJason, what were you and Corinne talking about just now?â
âOh, I was just giving her my congratulations,â said Jason with a smile.
Zeke turned to look toward the room and what should he see but Jeremy putting away his phone to
embrace Corinne so tightly that no gaps could be seen between their bodies.
âTsk, tsk, tsk! Look at Jeremy being all lovey-dovey with Corinne. I wouldnât have believed he could
have ever fallen in love if I hadnât seen it with my own eyes.â
An icy glint flashed across Jasonâs eyes when he heard the words âfallen in loveâ.
