Chapter 771
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Chapter 771
âIf you need help in the future, you should come to me instead of Jeremy. Iâm sure you wouldnât like
someone else being intimate with your husband too, would you, Miss Anya?â asked Corinne lightly.
It was hard to find fault in Corinneâs words.
She then lifted Anyaâs hand and put the bracelet back on her wrist. âSo that settles it then, right? Youâll
come to me if you need any help. Us girls should stick to each other instead of letting a man come
between us.â
Anya knew letting Corinne put the bracelet back on her was as good as agreeing to her arrangement.â
Why, this sneaky little b*tch! Not only did she cut off all possible reasons for me to contact Jeremy, but
she makes herself look like the good guy, too!â
Corinne was exhausted by then, so after helping Anya put her bracelet back on, she stretched her
arms and yawned sleepily. âLetâs go, Mister. I canât wait to go home and sleep!â
âOkay,â said Jeremy, having smiled throughout the squabble between Corinne and Anya. âGoodness,
she looks cute even when sheâs being fierce!â he thought.
In all of his 30 years of being alive, this was the first time someone had ever stood up for him. He was
impressed by the way Corinne used logic to protect his interest and also touched by how possessive
she was of him. He had to admit, he enjoyed the whole show, and that was why he did not interrupt her.
Jeremy saw no flaw in Corinneâs reasoning and arrangement. Before he left the party, he said to Anya,
Miss Anya, Iâm a married man now, so itâs best if we donât have any private contact with each other
anymore. But donât worry. Iâll hire the best nanny in the world to take care of Joey. You can come to my
wife if youâre ever troubled. She and Tommy will work together to help you. And if they canât help you,
Iâm sure my wife will pass on the message to me then.â
At that moment, all the guests could swear they heard Anyaâs heart breaking into a million pieces.â
Jeremy, wait⦠Donât goâ¦â
Jeremy ignored Anya, trotted to Corinne, and grabbed her hand gently.
Zeke and Gerald watched Jeremy and Corinne leave before turning to look at Anya, who was rooted
awkwardly to her spot. The two friends exchanged glances with each other and came to a tacit
understanding not to involve themselves in Jeremyâs love life.
âGerald, Jason, letâs go drink a few more glasses now that hen-pecked Jeremy is gone,â said Zeke with
an awkward smile.
Jason looked away from Corinneâs back, smiled, and nodded. He then turned around to go back to the
table with Gerald and Jason.
âJason!â Anya suddenly called him.
He stopped walking. âYes, Anya?â
âCan we have a word in private? I have something to tell you,â replied Anya seriously.
Jason furrowed his brow in confusion before nodding. âSure.â
The two of them came to the balcony.
âWhatâs the matter, Anya? What did you want to tell me?â asked Jason.
