Chapter 772
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Chapter 772
Anya looked at Jason innocently. âJason, do you have a crush on Corinne?â
âWhat makes you think that?â asked Jason, a little stunned.
âWhen I came downstairs, I happened to see you cropped out Corinne from the group photo and saved
it to your private album. Only someone who has a crush on someone else would do something like
that.â
Jason was a little taken aback, but he decided to come clean. âYes, I do have a crush on her, but
thereâs nothing I can do about it now. After all, sheâs married.â
Anya shook her head. âYouâll find a way if you like someone enough. We should team up.â
Jason looked thoughtfully at Anya. Suddenly, he smiled. âWhat do you have in mind?â
In the car.
Annie was driving and really getting into the rock and roll music she was playing on the car speaker
while Corinne and Jeremy sat at the back, their hands still tightly locked together.
With his other hand, Jeremy stroked Corinneâs head while saying, âThank you for standing up for me
just now. I enjoyed the show.â
Corinne rolled her eyes at him. âWell, someone had to do something. The gaslighting has been going
on for long enough. You should have put your foot down a long time ago.â
Jeremyâs eyes darkened. He knew what Corinne said was true. To be honest, his frustration toward
Anya grew as time went on, and many of the things she did out of âloveâ for him had crossed the line of
decency. However, whenever Anya brought up all the things she lost because of him, he would force
himself to comply with all her wishes out of guilt.
He sighed. âI wouldnât have let it go for as long as it did if it werenât for the fact that she lost the ability to
conceive and instead got an incurable health condition because of me. Iâll forever be indebted to her.â
Corinne understood how important it was for a woman to be able to have a baby, especially for a
woman who loves kids. To them, not being able to have a baby was akin to getting a death sentence.
However, Jeremyâs debt to Anya was all built on the premise that it was really her who saved him all
those years ago. Corinne had a strong gut feeling that things were not as they seemed.
She turned to Jeremy and stared into his eyes. âMister, what was the name of the place where you
nearly lost your life? Can you tell me all the details of what happened back then?â
Jeremy collected his thoughts and started telling her the story in a low voice. âIt all happened in a little
town near the Great Canyon. I was severely injured and chased after, so I hid in one of the bushes to
escape from my pursuer. I didnât see the rattlesnake sleeping there, and I got blinded by the venom
after it
bit me.
âAnya was vacationing at the resort owned by her family at that time, and she saw him while on her
way back to the resort. She sucked the venom out and after that, tended to my wounds. But because
she didnât fully spit out the venom, it got into her body too, and ever since then, she had been suffering
from one health condition after another-with the ultimate loss being unable to have a baby.â
âYou were severely injured? Where? And who were the people chasing after you?â asked Corinne with
a worried frown.
Jeremy stroked her head. âThey were my enemies. And Iâm all better from the injuries, so thereâs no
need
for you to know more.â
âAre your enemies still alive, then?â
âWhy do you ask? Are you going to avenge me?â asked Jeremy with an eyebrow raised.
âWell, itâs best if I know everything, isnât it? I donât want to end up being a widow⦠So I might as well
strike
first and get rid of your enemies for you!â said Corinne seriously.
