Chapter 811
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Chapter 811
Lucas nearly called Corinne âLunaâ again but quickly stopped since he did not want to anger Corinne
any further. âAhem! Iâll get you when itâs dinner time, Corinne.â
Corinne decided to take him up on his offer. âVery well, then. Thank you. Now, if you donât mind, Iâm
going to rest. Can you please go out?â
Lucas stared at her before he turned and walked out of the door, closing the door with the broken
music box still in his hand. As soon as he was outside, he instantly noticed Anya acting suspiciously
not far off.
Frowning, he walked over and asked, âWhy are you still here? Shouldnât you be taking care of Joey?â
Anya started to panic when she saw Lucas walking over to her. Unable to hide, she had no choice but
to explain, âLucas, I was worried youâd blow up at Corinne for breaking the music box, so I decided to
stay and-
Lucasâ face darkened. âI wonât blow up at her, so stop worrying about other people and go look after
Joey!â
Anya frowned. âWhy did you come out alone? Whereâs Corinne?â
âSheâs tired, so sheâs resting inside the room for a while. Donât you dare bother her, okay?â
Anyaâs eyes widened in shock, and she could not keep the emotion out of her voice. âYouâre letting her
rest in Lunaâs room? I thought you hated nothing more than for other people to touch her stuff!â
Lucas frowned, and after two seconds of silence, he said, âSheâs Grandpaâs savior, so she deserves to
get the best hospitality from us. She has the right to rest in any of the rooms.â
Lucasâ explanation did not seem to convince Anya. âThereâs something off about the two of themâ¦â she
thought.
Not bothering to explain more to Anya, Lucas then took out his phone and called Edmund.â Edmund,
Iâm on the second floor. Come up now.â
After a minute of hanging up the phone, Edmund arrived.
âEdmund, keep watch over this room; Miss Corinne is resting inside. Donât let anyone bother her,
okay?â ordered Lucas sternly.
âYes, Mister Lucas!â
Lucas then handed him the broken music box. âGet someone to fix this, and ask the servants to clean
up the broken glasses in the room. Make sure they sweep up every last piece so our guest wonât get
cut by them.â
Edmund accepted the music box and nodded. âYes, I understand, Mister Lucas.â
After that, Lucas went back to his room with a frown. He was not in a good mood and needed some
time alone.
Anya stayed rooted in shock as she watched Lucas leave dubiously. âWhat the heck is going on? What
couldâve happened for Lucas to have such a drastic change in attitude toward Corinne in
just a few days?â
After thinking about it, Anya decided to interrogate Corinne. However, Edmund stopped her.
âMiss Anya, Miss Corinne is resting inside, so youâre not allowed to go in.â
Anya pulled out her signature move. âEdmund, I just wanted to make sure sheâs alright. I promise I
wonât bother herâ¦â she said in a soft, cutesy manner.
âYouâve heard what Mister Lucas said just now, so please donât make my job any harder than it already
is,â said Edmund objectively.
