Chapter 861
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Chapter 861
Corinne slowly walked from Jeremyâs arms and stood in front of Anya. Crossing her arms nonchalantly,
she said, âYouâre right. I donât have physical evidence like the bracelet, but I have the same memory as
Jeremy.â
Anya refused to give up. âItâs normal to miss a few details when the incident happened so long ago! I
was the one who saved Jeremy, not you! I might not have remembered the details, but Iâm pretty sure
you got lucky with the
guesses.
âI remember everything now. I only brought Jeremy a roll of bun every day because I didnât want my
family to find out Iâd been sneaking out. And from what I know, you didnât even live in the town near the
mountain at the time Jeremy was hurt. Thereâs no way a little girl like you back then couldâve gone
somewhere so far away from home, so this just proves that youâre lying.â
Corinne smiled. âMiss Anya, youâre a stubborn one, arenât you? Well, let me tell you
everything that happened back then. I was brought up in a covenant, and Mother Cathrina, the nun
who took me in, brought me to the mountain to collect herbs that year. Thus, the two of us stayed with
the locals for a while back then.
âOne day, I got separated from Mother Cathrina, so I had to make my way back to the localâs. house.
On the way down the mountain, I heard someone coughing in the bushes, and that was where I found
the injured Jeremy. Fortunately, Iâve learned some homeopathy from Mother Cathrina and knew how to
tend to venomous snake bites, so I sucked out the venom and wrapped Jeremyâs wound with some
bandage and herbal medicine. Then, Iâd bring him a roll of bun and some water from my flash every
day.
âAt first, I thought Jeremy lost both of his ability to see and speak from the snake venom since he
wouldnât talk to me no matter what I say to him. Until one day, I mustâve gained his trust, since he said
thank you to me for the first time. It was only then I found out he could speak. after all.
âIf you ask me why I only brought him a roll of bun every day⦠Well, it was because Mother Cathrina
observes a strict vegetarian diet, so buns like that made up most of our diet. I shared with him what I
had.
âYou, Miss Anya, grew up surrounded by luxury. Surely itâd be hard-pressed to find a plain roll of bun
like that in your house. Since you said you were the one who saved Jeremy⦠Tell me, Miss Anya,
where did you find something like that to give him?â
âIâ¦â Anya could not come up with an answer at all.
âWhy that sneaky little b*tch! It took her no time to find the holes in my storyâ¦â she thought.
âI⦠I donât remember⦠I did grow up surrounded by luxury, but our family would sometimes. eat plain
buns as well⦠Besides, I was a kid then. I just grabbed whatever I could findâ¦â
Anya tried to bluff her way out of it again.
Jeremy walked up to Corinne and placed his hand lightly on her shoulder. That was as good as letting
everybody know whose side he was on.
He looked at Anya coldly and said, âMiss Anya, you still wonât admit you lied about saving me?
When faced with Jeremy, Anya immediately turned on a damsel in distress act. âJeremy, I⦠I have the
bracelet you gave me⦠I was the one who saved youâ¦â
âI didnât give you the bracelet in person. The man I gave the order had made a mistake, and Iâll punish
him accordingly.â
Anyaâs heart went cold, and she quickly turned on the waterworks. âJeremy⦠Iâ¦â
Corinne was annoyed by her tears. âMiss Anya, stop crying now. That wonât work anymore. Not only
did you pretend to be the girl who saved Jeremy all these years, but you even lied about your infertility
issue to emotionally blackmail him into loving you! Youâre one of the most despicable people Iâve ever
met in my life!â
