Chapter 879
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Chapter 879
âSheâs actuallyâ¦â Jason was about to say Corinne was Jeremyâs wife when Corinne cut him off.
âWe actually got to know each other through having the same illness,â quipped Corinne.
âIllness?â repeated Lola in shock.
Jason never expected Corinne would respond in such a way. He initially frowned, but he then smiled in
anticipation of what she was going to say next.
Corinne nodded. âYeah. He and I were in the same group chat created to talk about our illness. We
were just talking about how he was doing just now.â
Lola looked questioningly at Jason. âWhat illness is she talking about? Jason, are you sick? Why didnât
you tell me?â
âUh-oh. Sounds like you havenât told her yet, Jason,â said Corinne in mock surprise.
Jason smiled and decided to play along. âYeah, I havenât found the right time to tell her yet.â
âOh, Iâm so sorry! I shouldnât have been such a big blabbermouth,â said Corinne apologetically. Jason
shook his head. âItâs okay. I have to tell her sooner or later.â
Lola was immensely confused. âJason, what illness do you have? You canât keep this kind of
information from me!â
Before Jason could say anything. Corinne replied on his behalf, âDonât worry, Miss Lola. What he has
isnât serious, and he wonât die from it. Itâs just a little intractable disease, thatâs all. Itâs contagious, but
as long as you take the necessary precautionsâ¦â
As soon as Lola heard the word, âcontagiousâ, she jumped away from Jason in panic as she tried to
recall all the times she had come in contact with him. Even the two sales assistants who followed her
there instinctively took a step back.
Seeing Lolaâs reaction, Corinne continued saying, âDonât worry, Miss Lola! The chances of it passing on
to another person is very small, but itâs very hard to cure it when you get it, soâ¦â
The flabbergasted Lola took out her phone to send a message quickly. Not five seconds after that, her
phone rang.
She smiled awkwardly and said, âExcuse me, I need to take this.â
After that, she strode to the other side and said in a loud voice in response to what the person on the
other end of the phone said, âWhat? Everyoneâs there, and youâre all waiting for me? Oh fine, Iâll be
there in a sec!â
She then hung up the phone and turned to face Jason and Corinne. This time, she made sure to keep
her -distance from both of them. âSorry, Jason. My besties invited me to have a spa day with them,
soâ¦â she
trailed off awkwardly.
Jason stood up and took out his car keys. âItâs okay. Why donât I give you a ride to the spa?â
Lola smiled forcefully and waved her hand. âNo⦠No thanks. You should stay here with Miss Corinne!
Itâs not every day you guys get to talk to each other.â
âIf you say so,â said Jason âruefullyâ. âEnjoy your spa session, then.â
âWill do. Iâll be off, then. Have fun with each other, Jason, Miss Corinne.â
After that, she ran out of the store.
The two sales assistants held the bag Lola was holding with two fingers as though they were holding
something poisonous. Then, they quickly backed away from Jason and Corinne and went to sanitize
the bag.
