Chapter 885
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Chapter 885
âMister, how come you got off work so early today?â asked Corinne casually. There was none of the
usual formality she reserved for those not close to her.
âI didnât have anything scheduled after my meeting, so I thought Iâd come pick you up.â Jeremy tucked
her hair behind her ear. âHmph! Youâre eating spicy food behind my back again?â
Corinne pouted. âI canât help it⦠I was craving it.â
Chesterâs heart broke into a million pieces when he saw the interaction before him. He never expected
the woman he had been pining for all these years to be married. He planned to confess his feelings to
her right after he graduated so she could see the fine man he had worked hard to become. Alas,
someone beat him to it.
He sat back down again and smiled awkwardly. âWhen did you get married, Corinne?â
âSometime before the graduation ceremony,â said Corinne after thinking about it.
âItâd be more accurate to say we were just business partners thenâ¦.but no harm counting from that day
onward since weâre official now.â
âI see.â Chester was crestfallen. He no longer wanted to share the fun things that happened in school
with Corinne and wanted to leave so badly, but it would be rude to do that when Jeremy had just
arrived.
Thus, he forced himself to finish the food on his plate before standing up and saying, âThanks for
buying me lunch, Corinne. Letâs go out with the rest of the gang sometimes. Itâll be our treat. Iâll take my
leave here since I still have some flyers to pass out.â
Corinne nodded. She then turned to Francine and said, âFrancine, youâre done eating, right? Why donât
you go help Chester pass out the flyers?â
Francine first looked at Corinne with surprise, and she then turned to look at Chester, blushing.
Normally, she would scoff at being asked to do something so menial, but if it was with Chesterâ¦she
would be more than happy to!
However, Chester shook his head and said, âItâs okay. Thereâs not much left to pass out, anyway.â
âNo, I insist she helps out. Sheâs been trying to lose some weight recently, so walking around will do
her good,â replied Corinne with a smile.
It dawned on Francine that Corinne was trying to help her, so she quickly nodded and said, âSheâs
right! Iâve been trying to lose some weightâ¦â
Chester took everything Corinne said at face value, so he turned to look at Francine. âYouâre not fat at
all, so thereâs no need for you to lose any weight.â
âOh my god! My crush just told me I donât need to lose any weight. Gah! Iâm so happy!â thought
Francine. She started blushing madly while her heart thumped loudly.
After thinking over it, Chester realized this might be Corinneâs way of asking him to help her lure
Francine away so she could have some alone time with Jeremy. He was happy to help, but he could
not help but feel sorry for himself.
Francine quickly followed Chester out of the restaurant. She was so excited that she even forgot about
her newly-bought Hermes bag.
Corinne smiled as she watched the two of them leave.
âSo thatâs what you do when Iâm not around? Flirt with young guys?â asked Jeremy unhappily.
