Chapter 922
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Chapter 922
I also want her to come clean to everyone about what she did to my daughter. I want her to apologize
publicly!â
Hearing this, Corinne slowly raised her head and turned to look at Josephineâs mother as if she was
looking at something ridiculous.
However, Jeremy pressed her face back into his chest as he did not want her to dirty her eyes by
looking at these conniving people.
Jeremy glanced at Josephine, who had been crying ever since she arrived.â Your daughter isnât
qualified to work at my company since she doesnât have a degree.â
Josephineâs mother frowned and said, âShe would have if Corinne didnât steal her spot! Mister Jeremy,
Corinne is now your wife, and I can tell you two love each other very much. Thus, itâs only natural for
you to bear the consequences of what she did in the past. I know youâre the president of your company,
and that means everything you say matters! Iâm sure youâll only need to say a word to get my daughter
a job in your company.â
âYou still havenât been able to prove that my wife took your daughterâs spot in University of New Capital
City. Donât you think youâre being a little absurd to negotiate with me with such a flimsy bargaining
chip?â remarked Jeremy indifferently.
Although Josephineâs mother was a little intimidated by Jeremyâs oppressive aura, she was unwilling to
back easily. âIâve told you a thousand times. The proof is Corinneâs high school class attendance
record!â
âSkipping class often doesnât mean sheâs bad at her studies. Havenât you heard of the word âgeniusâ
before?â Jeremy asked steadily. âIf you canât show us any other proof but still insist my wife took your
daughterâs spot, I suggest we ask them to retake the SAT exams that year to see who can score the
highest grade.â
Josephineâs motherâs expression changed. Her gaze darted around before she finally composed
herself. âThat⦠Thatâs not fair. Corinne spent the last few years attending the best university in the
country while my daughter did farmwork. She mustâve forgotten a lot of the lessons, so how can she
score higher than your wife?â
Before Jeremy could say anything, Pamela scoffed and said, âYou shot down every idea we have, yet
you canât even show any proof. All you know how to do is make a scene. Do you really think our home
is somewhere you can do whatever you want without consequences? Bowen! Show our guests out!â
âYes, Maâam,â replied Bowen.
Josephineâs mother started to panic. Her trip would be in vain if she was kicked out of the mansion!
âHow dare you kick US out? You should take responsibility for what Corinne did since she married into
your family! Iâm not asking for much; just for her to make a public apology and to get my daughter a job
in the company!â
âWe can talk about your terms if you can give US some proof. Until then, youâll leave her alone,â said
Jeremy lightly. Bowen, do what you have to do to get them out of the house now.â
âYes, Mister Jeremy!â Bowen immediately summoned the bodyguards to drag Josephine and her
mother out of the mansion.
Josephineâs mother was no match for the burly bodyguards, so she resorted to screaming. âI wonât give
up, Corinne! You ruined my daughterâs life!
âAnd you, Holdens! Youâll all get whatâs coming for you for using your power to bully us. We might be
poor, but weâre not cowards! You have more to lose than us! Weâll see who comes out the winner in the
end!â
