Chapter 935
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Jeremy was stunned. He turned to look at her with an indecipherable emotion flashing in his eyes. He
then took out his phone and shoved it into her palm. âTake a look and find out for yourself why I gave
her my contact details!â
Corinne thought she might as well since he volunteered to let her go through his phone.
Jeremy had indeed accepted the girlâs friend request invitation. After that, the girl sent him a lot of
photos and a link, but he did not reply.
Corinne blushed with embarrassment after she looked at the photos and link.
âThat girl is Annieâs classmate. Sheâs now working at a high-end postpartum care center and heard
from Annie that youâre pregnant. She asked me whether Iâd be interested in their services. Sheâd send
me the photos and details before I proceed with the booking. I thought you might need it, so I agreed to
exchange contact details with her.â
Corinne fell silent.
âEven though youâre still far off from the due date, I thought it might be best I learn more about
postpartum care since this is the first time I came across all thisâ¦â Jeremy added unhappily.
Corinne remained silent. âHow should I know that the girl was just trying to get some business?â she
thought while twiddling her thumb with her head down.
Seeing this, Jeremy frowned and lifted up her chin. âIs this why you ignored me and sat next to Jason?â
Corinne pouted. âI thoughtâ¦â
Jeremy scoffed angrily. âYou thought I was flirting with another girl behind your back, right?â
Corinne did not deny that. âLooking at the situation, anyone wouldâve thought the same thing! Iâm sorry.
I shouldâve trusted you more. I promise I wonât make the same mistake anymore.â
Jeremy did not feel vindicated at all. Instead, he held her face in his hands. âIâm not doing this so youâll
apologize to me, little rascal. I just want you to remember to talk to me if you see me doing something
you donât like. This way, there wonât be any misunderstanding between us, okay?â
Corinne nodded. âOkayâ¦â
Jeremyâs heart softened when he saw how pitiful she looked. He brushed her cheek softly and cooed,
âBut you did do something well today. You remembered not to drink anything another man gave you.â
He was talking about the glass of juice Jason gave her, which she immediately put down without taking
a sip.
Corinne pouted. âThatâs âcause I wasnât thirsty then.â
Jeremy knew she was just being stubborn, so he pretended to be angry. âWhereâs the good girl from
before?â he asked with a raised eyebrow.
Corinne smiled and decided to let the matter rest. âI might as well take this opportunity to ask him about
the marriage certificate since heâs told me I can ask him anythingâ¦â
âMister, why donât you want to get legally married to me?â
Jeremyâs face darkened at the question. After two seconds of silence, he finally answered, âI do want to
get legally married to you.â
Corinne raised her eyebrow. âThen why do you always avoid the topic whenever I bring it up?â
Jeremy looked at her. His mouth parted a little before it shut closed again. After thinking over it, he
decided not to tell her the real reason. âJust give me a bit more time, okay, little rascal?â
Even though Corinne really wanted to know his reason, she could tell it was difficult for him to tell her.
Not wanting to upset him, she just said, âOkay.â
