Chapter 938
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Greg smacked his wheelchairâs armrest and scoffed angrily. âSo what if he doesnât agree? Whoâs the
grandfather hereâhim or me? As long as Iâm still alive, I get to say how this family will be run!â
âGoodness⦠I forget just how stubborn you can get,â uttered Pamela with dismay. She was about to
persuade Greg when a voice sounded from behind them.
âIâm sorry for causing trouble for this family and the company, Grandpa. But donât worry, I promise Iâll
restore the companyâs reputation and compensate you for any losses you might have incurred because
of me,â said Corinne.
Greg was stunned to hear her voice. However, his frown deepened when he turned to look at her. Both
Pamela and Francine did the same, too.
Corinne and Jeremy stood somewhere not far behind them.
Pamela blushed sheepishly. âCorinne, Jeremy, when did you two get home? Why didnât you say
anything?â
âWe just arrived,â answered Jeremy.
Greg looked at Corinne suspiciously. âYou say youâll compensate us for the loss? How?â
âI canât tell how when I havenât done it. But I can promise you that if I donât do what I said Iâd do, Iâll
leave this house. You wonât need to kick me out then,â Corinne answered calmly.
The suspicion in Gregâs eye became stronger when she saw how confident Corinne was. âShe must be
bluffing!â
âFine, I canât wait to see what youâve cooked up.â
Corinne gave him a curt nod before turning to smile at Pamela. âGrandma, Iâm a little tired right now, so
Iâll head back to my room now. I hope you and Grandpa turn in early too.â
Pamela was embarrassed for Gregâs outburst toward Corinne, so she said gently, âAlright, dear. And
donât pay your grandfather much heed. Heâs nothing but an old fool. I believe youâre a good kid no
matter what.â
Corinne smiled at Pamela again and went upstairs.
Greg scoffed. âI bet sheâs all talk!â
Jeremy stayed where he was. He narrowed his eyes at his stubborn grandfather. âGrandpa, you should
go to bed early if you have nothing good to say,â he said coldly. After that, he followed Corinne up the
stairs.
Greg glared vehemently at Jeremyâs back. âWhat does he mean by that? Is he calling me a nag?â
Pamela glared at Greg. âCan you just stop meddling in the kidsâ affairs, you old fool?â
Gregâs expression hardened. âI wouldnât have involved myself in this if it werenât for the fact our family
had been dragged through the mud!â
âFine, fine. Itâs getting late. Letâs go to bed. Iâm sure Jeremy will take care of this matter.â Pamela knew
it was futile to keep arguing with Greg, so she decided to just stop. She walked over and pushed him
back to his room.
Francine sighed and went back to her room, too.
If this had happened before, she would be jumping in glee and adding fuel to the fire.
