Chapter 130
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 130:
Inside, the bar pulsed with dim, flickering lights and pounding music. The air was thick with the sharp scent of alcohol and tobacco. At the bar, Jim sat alone, nursing a drink, his posture relaxed, as if the chaos around him didnât exist.
When Noah stormed in, Jimâs eyes flickered with brief surprise, but he quickly masked it with indifference.
âHello,â he said flatly, his tone devoid of emotion, as if heâd been expecting this confrontation all along.
âWhere is Sadie?â Noah shot back, cutting straight to the point. Jim chuckled quietly, swirling the amber liquid in his glass.
âHow would I know?â
âDonât play games with me!â Noah snarled, lunging forward to grab Jim by the collar. His eyes burned with fury. âYou and Sadie were plotting something!â
But Jim didnât flinch. He met Noahâs glare with calm defiance.
âPlaying games?â Jim scoffed, shaking his head. âNoah, you give me too much credit.â
With a swift, sharp motion, Jim wrenched himself free from Noahâs grip, his eyes glinting with mockery.
âAnd why would Sadie be plotting with me? Hasnât she always been your loyal little shadow?â
âDamn you!â Noah spat, his chest heaving with frustration, but deep down, he couldnât find the words to argue.
âNoah,â Jim said quietly, his voice cutting through the tension, âyou only realize the value of something once itâs gone. But by then⦠isnât it too late?â
Noahâs fists clenched so tightly his nails dug into his palms, but the sharp sting didnât register. All he could feel was the weight of Jimâs words.
Noahâs fist shot out with brutal speed, connecting squarely with Jimâs jaw. The crack of the impact echoed over the thumping bass of the barâs music.

Jim staggered back, catching himself against the edge of the bar, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.
âAre you in love with Sadie?â Noah roared, his voice raw. His eyes were bloodshot, wildâlike a caged animal teetering on the edge of losing control.
âIn love with her?â Jim scoffed, shaking his head. âNoah, you really do think too highly of yourself. Iâve been with more women than I can countâwhy the hell would I be interested in your wife?â
âThen why are you protecting her?â Noah barked, grabbing Jim by the collar, his grip like a vice. His knuckles blanched as he pulled Jim in, his teeth clenched so tightly it looked like his jaw might snap.
âBecause I canât stand watching you tear down a good woman like that,â Jim shot back, his voice sharp, cutting through Noahâs rage like a blade. âSadieâs given up everything for you. And youâyouâre too blind and too fucking selfish to see it!â
With a sharp shove, Jim pushed Noah back, his eyes gleaming with disgust. âYouâve changed, Noah. Youâve turned into a selfish, hypocritical bastard, all for Kyla. And in the process, you threw away someone who loved you without question, like she was nothing.â
Noahâs chest heaved, his breath coming in ragged bursts. His fist shot up again, trembling in mid-air, ready to land another punch. Jim didnât move. He just shrugged, a knowing smirk tugging at his bruised lips, as if heâd expected Noah to pull back all along.
âWeâre not friends anymore.â Noahâs voice was low and hoarse, weighted with pain and disappointment he couldnât quite mask.
Without another word, he turned on his heel and strode out of the bar, never once glancing back. Jim stood there, watching Noahâs figure disappear into the shadows, the echo of his words lingering in the air long after he was gone.
Sadie drifted in and out of consciousness, trapped in a fog of dizziness. Her vision was hazy, and a sharp, persistent ringing filled her ears. She blinked hard, trying to focus, and slowly, the sterile white of the hospital ceiling came into view.
