Chapter 133
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 133:
The doctor gave her a cursory examination and, seeing no medical reason to keep her, nodded in agreement. The moment the paperwork was signed, Kyla bolted from the hospital, her heart hammering against her ribs as she sped toward Myrtlewood Estate. She had to find Noah.
Bursting through the study door, Kyla froze. Noah sat slumped at his desk, his figure barely recognizable. The sharp, commanding presence of Wall Group CEO was gone. In its place was a man swallowed by grief, his eyes void of light, his face pale and gaunt, with stubble shadowing his jaw. The sight of himâso broken, so hollowâsent a chill down Kylaâs spine.
She stepped forward carefully, her voice soft, almost hesitant. âNoah⦠are you okay?â
âPack up your things. I want you out of here as soon as possible.â Noahâs voice was like iceâsharp, cold, and utterly devoid of emotion.
Kyla felt her stomach twist, a wave of dread rising in her chest.
âWhat⦠what are you talking about, Noah?â she asked, her tone light, feigning confusion as if she hadnât heard him clearly.
Noah slowly lifted his head. âLet me be clearâI want you out of my life.â His words were deliberate, each syllable dropping like a hammer. âItâs over between us.â His voice was final, leaving no room for negotiation, no space for hope.
Kylaâs face drained of color. She had anticipated many things, but Noahâs sheer ruthlessness wasnât one of them.
âNoah, you canât do this to me! I saved your life, remember? Back thenâI risked everything for you.â She clung to the only leverage she had left, but Noahâs expression didnât waver. If anything, his eyes grew colder, his jaw tightening.
âIf it hadnât been for you, I wouldnât have been in danger at all.â His voice sharpened with anger as he suddenly stood, towering over her. âIf you hadnât insisted on following me into that dangerous place, I never wouldâve crossed paths with those people.â His eyes blazed with disgust and something even deeperâhatred.
Kylaâs body trembled, a slight but undeniable shiver running through her. She hadnât expected Noah to speak with such cutting finality. âNoah, Iâ¦â she began, her voice fragile, but Noah didnât let her finish.

âEnough!â he snapped, his voice like a whip cracking through the tension. âI donât want to hear another word from you.â
Without missing a beat, he barked an order toward the door, his tone ice-cold and authoritative. âKeep searching for Sadie. I want her foundâdead or alive.â
Kyla stood frozen, her face drained of color, her entire body trembling. She felt the ground shift beneath her, realizing with a hollow ache that Noahâs disappointment wasnât fleetingâit was absolute.
But as she quietly observed him, a flicker of realization sparked in her mind. He didnât know. He hadnât learned the truth about her from Ryderânot yet.
Still, Kyla knew better than to relax. Ryder was a ticking time bomb. As long as he was alive, he could destroy everything sheâd built. Taking a deep, steadying breath, she forced herself to push the fear down.
The priority now was survival.
With Noahâs thoughts fully consumed by Sadie, his guard over Ryder had slipped. This was her chance.
Seizing the opportunity, Kyla sent some people to infiltrate the place where Ryder was being held. The operation was swift, silentâno one noticed his disappearance.
âYouâ¦â Ryderâs voice cracked, thick with shock. He instinctively struggled against the ropes binding him, his body tense with confusion and suspicion.
Kylaâs gaze swept over his disheveled, broken figure, a brief flicker of disdain crossing her eyes. âDonât be afraid,â she said smoothly, her tone gentle but laced with hidden intentions. âIâm here to set you free.â
Ryder clung to a sliver of hope, his eyes lighting up with renewed life. âYou mean⦠youâll actually let me go?â
