Chapter 134
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 134:
âAbsolutely,â Kyla responded with a smile that seemed warm, handing him a glass of water. âDrink this. Itâll calm your nerves.â
Without hesitation, Ryder accepted the glass and drank it down in one steady gulp.
Unbeknownst to him, Kyla had slipped a deadly, untraceable poison into the water.
The poison took effect swiftly. Ryder grasped his chest in agony, his face contorting in shock, before he crumpled to the floor in a heap. Kyla watched his convulsing body with a cold, emotionless gaze.
âDispose of this,â she commanded her team, her voice void of warmth.
Her subordinates quickly removed Ryderâs body, erasing all traces of the incident. After adjusting her attire as if nothing had happened, Kyla made her way to Noah.
âAre you still searching for her?â she asked, entering Noahâs study with a false concern laced with hidden intent.
Noah, haggard and with worry etched into his face, looked up. âKyla, hello,â he said weakly, overwhelmed by fatigue.
âLet her go, Noah,â Kyla said, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder. âWerenât you two heading toward a divorce anyway? Maybe itâs for the best if she just disappears.â
âEnough!â Noah exclaimed, standing abruptly and shoving Kyla back. His eyes blazed with rage. âYou donât understand anything!â
Kyla staggered from the push, anger flashing in her eyes, but she quickly masked it with a hurt expression.
âWhy are you so harsh with me?â she asked, feigning distress. âIâm just worried about youâ¦â
âGet the fuck out!â Noah shouted, pointing toward the door, his voice thunderous.
However, Kyla wasnât easily dismissed. She left the study and hurried to find Isabel.

Tears streamed down Kylaâs face as she pleaded, âMrs. Wall, you have to talk to Noah! Heâs losing his mind over Sadie!â
Already predisposed against Sadie, Isabelâs irritation deepened after hearing Kylaâs words.
âTrouble seems to follow that woman wherever she goes!â Isabel erupted, slamming her hand on the table in anger before storming off to find Noah.
âSign this, Noah!â She threw the divorce papers at him, her voice firm and commanding. âYouâre done with her after this.â
Noah glanced at the divorce papers, a mix of emotions crossing his face, but he remained silent.
âWhat are you thinking?â Isabelâs voice grew harsher as she saw his reluctance to sign. âAre you really going to disregard my advice because of her?â
Noah remained silent, visibly torn by his decision.
âJust look at what sheâs done to you!â Isabelâs words dripped with disappointment as she observed his conflicted demeanor. âYouâre letting her destroy you.â
âMom, I donât want to talk about this right now,â Noah murmured, massaging his temples, his voice tired.
âThis needs to be discussed now. Your negligence at work, the past scandalsâhave you forgotten them all?â Isabel pressed, her voice sharp and filled with disdain for Sadie.
âThose issues are behind us, Mom,â Noah replied dismissively.
âBehind us? Do you realize the embarrassment sheâs caused the Wall family?â Isabel was furious. âIâve always said she wasnât right for you. Kyla is everything Sadie is notâkind, moral, well-educated. How can Sadie compare?â
âMom, about Kyla and meâ¦â Noah began, clearly conflicted.
âYou and Kyla belong together. Itâs a blessing that Sadie is out of the picture. She was nothing but a hindrance!â Isabel insisted firmly. âNow, sign these papers and marry Kyla. Do it quickly!â
