Chapter 171
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 171:
âButâ¦â Tina began, eager to get more details, only to be silenced by Sadieâs determined look.
âIâm here today because I have something to take care of,â Sadie said, quickly changing the subject.
âWhatâs the matter?â Tinaâs tone was laced with concern.
âItâs aboutâ¦â Sadie paused for a moment. âAbout a collaboration.â
Upon hearing what Sadie said, Tina eagerly pulled her along. âCome on, Sadie, letâs head to the meeting room first. Iâll call the person in charge right away.â
Guided by Tina, Sadie entered the elevator, feeling the weight in her heart increase with each floor they ascended. To her, Wall Group was less about business and more like a source of personal anguish.
The elevator doors opened, and Tina led Sadie directly to the designated meeting room.
âHere we are.â Tina pushed open the door, only to halt abruptly at the sight of the occupant inside.
Kyla was there, casually browsing through some documents. She was dressed in a pale-yellow suit that accentuated her flawless skin and elegant demeanor. Upon hearing the door, Kyla looked up. When she spotted Sadie, her expression stiffened, and the documents she held tumbled to the floor.
âYouâ¦â Kyla started, her voice laced with surprise and irritation.
Tina, too, seemed surprised, momentarily speechless.
The room was filled with tension instantly.
âMiss Wade, Sadie is here to discuss a potential collaboration,â Tina finally stated.
Before Tina could continue, Kyla interrupted with a scornful laugh. âSadie, youâve got some nerve. Do you even understand your position, coming here to propose a partnership with Wall Group?â
Tina shifted uncomfortably, unsure how to manage the situation.
âMiss Wade, I am here on behalf of my studio to discuss professional matters, not personal issues. My qualifications are not up for your judgment,â Sadie responded coolly, which seemed to aggravate Kyla even more.
Kyla stepped closer, her voice low and biting. âStop the act!â she snapped. âAre you here trying to rekindle old flames? Just donât even think about it.â
A mocking smile flickered across Sadieâs face as she met Kylaâs glare with a chilling gaze.
âMiss Wade, you seem very interested in my personal life. It appears your feelings for Mr. Wall are quite intense.â
âDamn you!â Kylaâs face reddened with anger.
âStop being so sarcastic! Do you really think you can come between Noah and me? Dream on!â
âCome between you? Is that necessary?â Sadie responded coolly.
âYouâ¦â Kyla was at a loss for words, her frustration evident. With a final glare, she stormed out of the room, slamming the door behind her.
The room quieted, leaving only Sadie and Tina.
After a few seconds of silence, Tina cautiously asked, âSadie, are you⦠okay?â
âIâm fine. This isnât new to me.â
Sadie had expected this kind of reaction from Kyla.
Tina looked at her, hesitating before voicing her curiosity. âSo⦠you and Mr. Wallâ¦â
âThereâs nothing between us.â Sadie cut her off sharply.
Tina exhaled softly.
âWhen Miss Wade came back from abroad three years ago, everyone thought they were getting married. After all, Mr. Wall is influential, and sheâs attractiveâthey seemed perfect for each other.â
