Chapter 187
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 187:
âShe had little choice against Mr. Wallâs directive.â Jordyn chuckled.
Kylaâs laughter echoed softly, tinged with a clear note of satisfaction. âExcellent. This time, ensure thereâs no escape for her. I want her downfall to be so severe that she canât recover.â
âDonât worry, Miss Wade,â Jordyn assured her swiftly. âIâll oversee everything personally. Sheâll be cornered.â
âGood,â Kyla responded, contentment in her voice. âAnd what of the Timeless Love design drafts? Has she turned them in yet?â
âThey are already here, on my desk,â Jordyn confirmed promptly.
âExcellent,â drawled Kyla, her voice relaxed yet ominous. âKeep in mind, her reputation must be completely destroyed.â
Ending the call, Jordyn set down her phone, her lips curving into a malevolent smile. She picked up the drafts from her desk, her gaze sharp and scheming. She was curious to see how Sadie would attempt to deflect this latest challenge.
Meanwhile, Sadie was back in her office, her fingers brushing lightly over the intricate, gold-embossed details of the invitation. A subtle smile flickered across her face.
âVision Clash? Theyâre truly desperate,â she mused quietly.
Could they really believe she was oblivious to their schemes? They intended for her to humiliate herself at the event and tarnish her reputation irreparably.
However, their schemes were on the brink of unraveling. Unbeknownst to them, she had secured her own invitation to Vision Clash.
After finishing her work, Sadie collected her belongings and exited the office. She made her way to the entrance of the Wall Group building, ready to hail a cab. Having recently returned to the country, she hadnât yet purchased a car. Since she finished work early today, she decided to seize the chance to explore some potential homes.
The evening breeze carried a crisp hint of early autumn. Sadie tightened her coat and looked into the distance. At that moment, a man approached her. It was Samuel.
âMiss Hudson, Mr. Wall wants your presence.â

Sadie glanced at the nearby parked Maybach. âThatâs not necessary,â she responded with a cool detachment. âI have other matters to attend to.â
Samuel appeared troubled. âBut Mr. Wall specifically instructedââ
âMr. Ford,â Sadie cut him off. âMy personal time is my own after work hours. Itâs not subject to Mr. Wallâs approval.â
With that, she turned and walked to the curb, flagged down a cab, and left in a swirl of dust. Samuel stood watching the cab vanish, then sighed helplessly. He pulled out his phone and called Noah.
âMr. Wall, Miss Hudson declined.â
In the back seat of the Maybach, Noahâs expression turned icy. âFind out where Sadie went.â
Samuel nodded. âYes, Mr. Wall.â
After ending the call, he stared out at the traffic, his lips pressed tightly together in frustration.
Later, at a real estate agency, Sadie pointed to a photo of a property, her brow furrowed. âThis one doesnât have good lighting, and itâs too far from Averiâs school,â she noted.
The agent quickly offered another option. âHow about this one? Itâs well-ventilated, newly renovated, and located in a fantastic community. Plus, itâs very close to an elementary school and several kindergartens.â
Sadieâs eyes lingered on the photo of the two-bedroom apartment, noting its simple and elegant decor. It was indeed quite appealing. But she still shook her head. âItâs slightly over my budget.â
The agent tried to persuade her further, but Sadie had already stood up. âIâll think about it.â
