Chapter 207
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 207:
A slight smirk passed fleetingly across Kylaâs face as she leaned into Isabelâs hug.
Taking Kylaâs hand firmly, Isabel led the way with urgency, pulling her along.
Kyla struggled to keep pace with Isabel, her breathing uneven. Despite this, she managed a serene smile and occasionally said, âLetâs slow down a bit. We wouldnât want you to trip.â
Isabel seemed deaf to Kylaâs concerns. Visions of Sadie and Alex, with their three-year-old child, fueled her growing rage. She was eager to confront Noah and demand answers directly.
The sprawling Myrtlewood Estate loomed majestically ahead. Upon their arrival, the butler, Breck Wagner, immediately approached them with a swift greeting. âMrs. Wall, Miss Wade, welcome.â He was about to call Noah when he heard the sound of footsteps at the grand entrance.
Noah had returned.
Dressed in a sharp, dark gray suit that accentuated his lean stature, Noah looked both weary and commanding. Though there was a slight weariness in his eyes, he still carried an air of authority.
Isabelâs temper reached its peak when she saw him. Abruptly releasing Kylaâs hand, she marched straight to Noah, her voice filled with accusation. âNoah! You need to explain now! What is this mess with Sadie all about?â
Noahâs brow furrowed in confusion. He was taken aback by both Isabelâs tone and her unexpected question. âMom, why are you so upset? What happened?â
Isabelâs sneer was sharp as she retorted, âYouâre asking what happened? Tell me, Noah, did Sadie cheat on you and have a child with Alex?â
Noahâs face hardened, and his eyes narrowed. âWhat nonsense are you talking about?â
At that moment, Kyla moved closer to Isabel, gently pulling at her sleeve and whispering, âPlease, try to stay calm and speak with Noah without being angry.â

Isabel turned to Kyla, her face twisted in distress. After a deep breath, she managed to regain control and, pointing towards Kyla, she turned to Noah. âTake a good look at how great Kyla is. Sheâs gentle, virtuous, and well-mannered. When do you plan to marry her so we can finally be at peace?â
Noah glanced at Kyla briefly before addressing Isabel. âMom, let me manage my own affairs.â
Isabelâs temper flared again. âLet you? And how well has that worked out for you? Sadie has tricked you! Sheâs had a child with another man, yet you continue to defend her!â
Noahâs expression darkened, his lips tightly sealed as he chose not to respond.
Tears began to well up in Kylaâs eyes as she whispered, âPlease stop fighting. This is all my faultâ¦â
Isabel pulled Kyla into an embrace, shooting a stern look at Noah. âYouâve let me down! I insist you divorce Sadie and marry Kyla immediately!â
The atmosphere in the living room grew heavy and oppressive.
âMom, Iâll handle it. Please, go back and rest.â
Isabelâs anger escalated when she heard his calm response. âWhat kind of attitude is that? Iâm just worried about you, and here you areââ
âMrs. Wallâ¦â Kyla interrupted softly, halting Isabelâs words. âNoah surely has his reasons. Letâs go back now and not make this harder for him.â
Kyla spoke softly, gently tugging at Isabelâs sleeve.
Isabel felt a pang in her heart, recognizing Kylaâs sensibility and consideration. She sighed and turned to Noah, her voice heavy with resignation. âNoah, you are on your own now. Take care.â With those parting words, she left.
Just as Kyla was about to follow, Noahâs cold voice halted her.
She paused and turned back, her expression filled with confusion.
âAbout what Jordyn and Beccy did, are you involved?â
