Chapter 295
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 295:
Sadie gave a nod. âYes, I do recall that.â She had dismissed it as a fleeting fancy of his at the time and hadnât given it much thought.
âMy time is running short,â Nigel said, his voice laden with gravity as he clutched his cane more firmly. âNoah has a habit of rash decisions. Youâve matured, Sadie. The shares originally belonging to Absolon were always intended for you.â
The gravity of his statement overwhelmed Sadie, rendering her speechless for a moment.
Nigel then addressed Gabriel, saying, âGabriel, please arrange a meeting with our legal team and start preparing the necessary paperwork. Make sure it remains confidential.â
âUnderstood, Mr. Wall,â responded Gabriel, nodding respectfully.
âIâll inform you once everything is set,â Nigel added, his eyes alight with anticipation as he looked at Sadie.
With a numb nod, Sadie struggled to process the news.
After a prolonged silence, she finally mustered the courage to speak, her voice shaky. âNigel, do you have any information about where my parents might be?â
Nigel shook his head and responded, âIâve dispatched search parties, yet weâve heard nothing back.â He let out a deep sigh.
Feeling drained, he said, âI need to rest now, Sadie. Please, take a moment to speak to your grandfather. I will excuse myself.â
Sadie lingered in the memorial hall for what felt like an eternity before finally dragging herself back to the living room. Her mind was a storm of tangled thoughts, each one colliding with the next.
As she reached the center of the room, a figure stepped into her pathâIsabel.

Arms crossed, her sharp eyes cut through Sadie like a blade. âWhat exactly did Nigel drag you to the memorial hall for?â
Sadie had no interest in engaging and tried to sidestep her. But before she could slip past, Isabelâs hand clamped down on her arm with startling force.
âIs this what passes for manners where you come from?â Isabel sneered, her grip tightening. âI asked you a question.â
Pain shot through Sadieâs arm, and with a sharp tug, she wrenched herself free. âWhat Nigel and I discuss is none of your business.â
Isabelâs face twisted in fury, her hand trembling as she pointed at Sadie, words failing her. âDonât think Nigelâs favor gives you free rein to do as you please!â
Isabel spat, her voice dripping with contempt. âWhat makes you think youâre worthy of being part of the Wall family? Do you actually believe you deserve Noah?â
Sadie met her glare with an unsettling calm, her eyes cold and unreadable. âThere is nothing between Noah and me,â she said, her voice steady. âAnd there never will be.â
At that moment, Noah descended the staircase, his usual air of cool detachment vanishing the instant he caught Sadieâs words. His expression darkened, a storm brewing behind his eyes.
Trailing just behind him was Kyla, her soft yellow dress flowing effortlessly around her as she took in the unfolding scene with an amused smirk.
Sadie, unbothered by the thickening tension, strode toward the front door without a backward glance.
Noahâs gaze followed her retreating figure, his jaw tightening, his hands curling into fists.
