Chapter 303
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 303:
âWhat? Can you repeat that?â Sadie stood rooted to the spot, feeling as though she had been doused with cold water, chilling her to the bone. âHow could that be? The Howe family and the Wall family have been close for generations, and the Howe family isnât exactly powerlessâ¦â
Tina gave a confused shrug. âWho can say? The motives of those at the top are often a mystery.â
Suppressing a yawn and blinking back tears, Tina murmured, âIâve got to get some sleep. Iâm exhausted.â
With a wave of her hand, Tina departed, leaving Sadie alone with her thoughts swirling.
Could the Wall Group really be aiming to acquire the Howe Group?
How could this be happening?
She was unable to get in touch with Alex⦠Was it linked to Noah somehow?
The chill of the wind, now mingled with light rain, whipped across Sadieâs face, snapping her back to reality.
The Wall Groupâs potential takeover of the Howe Group, the resignation of her staff⦠It all seemed to converge on a single, ominous point.
Inside, Sadie fought to contain the turmoil swirling within her.
âIs all this happening because of me?â she muttered to herself. She suddenly recalled what happened in Noahâs car, his chilling words echoing in her mind. âSadie, youâll regret this. Mark my wordsâ¦â
Only then did she grasp the full picture. It was because she had refused his âgenerosity.â
Was Noah seeking vengeance against her and Alex?

A sharp pang constricted Sadieâs chest, as though her heart was being wrung, rendering her breathless. âNo, I must uncover the truth.â
Gritting her teeth, Sadie pulled out her phone and quickly dialed a number.
âLook into the staff who left my studio. I need to know where theyâve gone.â
The waiting period seemed endless.
Ten minutes passed before her phone started ringing.
âMiss Hudson, weâve found out. All your former employees have moved to Wall Group.â
This was exactly what Sadie had suspected. Her grip on the phone tightened, her knuckles blanching.
Anger began to swell in her chest, threatening to consume her.
Meanwhile, the sound of the kindergarten bell pierced the air, marking the dayâs end as childrenâs laughter filled the background.
Seeing Sadie at the edge of the crowd, Averi dashed over on his tiny legs and leapt into her arms, exclaiming, âMommy!â
With effort, Sadie mustered a smile and embraced her son with all her might.
âMommy, are you okay? You seem sad,â said Averi, his small hand tenderly caressing her face.
âIâm fine, sweetheart. Mommyâs just feeling a bit worn out,â Sadie reassured him, holding back her tears as she kissed his forehead.
Once they were home, Sadie passed Averi to Carol.
She quickly relayed some instructions and then rushed out. Finding Noah was imperative. She was determined to confront him and demand the truth.
