Chapter 329
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 329:
âSadie, you bitch!â Kyla growled, throwing her phone onto the sofa.
She began to pace, agitation mounting with each step. âNo, I canât just sit here and do nothing!â Kyla stopped abruptly.
âNoah is mineâmine alone! No one will ever take him from me!â
Seizing her handbag, she stormed out of the door, driven by rage.
At KFC, while Noah and Averi were still enjoying their meal, a figure approached their table.
âNoah, what a coincidenceâyouâre here too,â Kyla said, her smile strained, her eyes fixed intently on Averi.
Noahâs brow furrowed slightly as he responded coolly, âMm.â
Ignoring Noahâs reserved reaction, Kyla walked straight up to Averi, crouched down, and spoke in an overly sweet tone. âHey there, little one, whatâs your name?â
Averi eyed her warily and moved closer to Noah without responding.
âDonât be scared. Iâm a friend of Noah,â Kyla continued, still smiling as she reached out to pat Averiâs head.
Averi ducked away from her hand, gripping Noahâs arm tightly, and stated in a small, firm voice, âI donât like this lady.â
For a moment, Kylaâs smile froze, but she quickly recovered, masking her irritation. âOh, youâre such a shy little one.â
She then pulled a neatly wrapped toy from her purse. âI brought you a gift. Do you like it?â
Averi glanced at the toy but shook his head and retreated behind Noah, his voice soft yet resolute. âMy mom said not to take things from strangers.â Kylaâs expression darkened momentarily. She hadnât anticipated such a direct rejection from Averi.

Attempting to maintain her composure, she insisted, âIâm not a stranger.â
âAnyway, I donât know you!â Averi retorted loudly, his face flushing with emotion.
Noah, observing Averiâs defensive reaction, felt a surge of protectiveness. He tousled Averiâs hair affectionately and addressed Kyla firmly. âWeâve got to go.â
With that, he took Averiâs hand and swiftly exited KFC.
Kyla stood frozen for a moment, watching their retreating backs, her forced smile dissolving into a look of sheer venom. âSadie, just you wait!â Kyla hissed through clenched teeth, her fist so tightly balled that her fingernails dug into her palm.
Noah, with Averiâs hand securely in his, walked out of KFC with deliberate, long strides.
Behind them, Kylaâs resentful gaze followed, igniting a flicker of annoyance within him.
âThat lady is so scary,â Averi murmured in a small, frightened voice, gripping Noahâs hand more tightly.
As Noah looked down at the child, his expression softened.
He offered a reassuring smile and said gently, âDonât worry, Iâm here.â Just as he spoke, a sharp cry cut through the air.
Noah quickly turned around to see Kyla collapsing to the floor. Her high heels lay askew beside her, and blood flowed from a gash on her forehead down her cheekâa startling sight.
