Chapter 343
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 343:
The color drained from Percyâs face as he hadnât anticipated Sadie would involve law enforcement.
In a state of panic, he leapt to his feet, attempting to intercept the butler. âPlease, donât⦠donât call the police! It was not intentional.â
Sadie scoffed loudly. âNot intentional, you say? Do you honestly expect me to fall for that? I will pursue this matter to the very end!â
Percy was too slow to prevent the butler from acting; he watched helplessly as the butler dialed the police, clearly explaining the incident and their location. Percyâs expression turned grim. With a look of intense loathing, he bared his teeth and hissed, âJust you waitâ youâll regret this!â
He then hastily retrieved his phone and dialed Kyla. Once the call connected, Percy didnât dare admit to damaging Sadieâs jewelry. Instead, he twisted the truth, casting all the blame on Sadie.
âMiss Wade, you must get to Stonemont Estate immediately! Sadie has lost her mind! Sheâs made a huge scene and smashed the jewelry box I brought. Now, sheâs trying to have me arrested! You need to come and sort this out!â
On the other end of the line, Kylaâs anger ignited. âWhat?! Iâm on my way!â
Kyla quickly disconnected the call and hurried towards Stonemont Estate. Images of Sadieâs indifferent expression played in Kylaâs mind, igniting a spark of jealousy. She resolved that Sadie wouldnât get away with acting so superior!
The atmosphere was charged with tension at the entrance of Stonemont Estate. Calm and composed, Sadie and Nanette stood to one side, seemingly in control of the situation. Contrastingly, Percy was visibly agitated, pacing back and forth and continuously checking the entrance in anticipation of Kylaâs arrival.
The police arrived promptly and set about evaluating the circumstances, beginning by questioning those present.
The butler was the first to testify, offering a thorough recount of the incident.

âUpon hearing the disturbance, I immediately rushed there. I encountered Mr. Webster and Miss Hudson amidst a dispute, surrounded by the remnants of shattered jewelry boxes and loose diamonds. Mr. Webster accused Miss Hudson of breaking his jewelry box, whereas Miss Hudson insisted that an intentional bump from Mr. Webster led to her employee dropping their box.â
The police then turned their attention to Percy. âMr. Webster, what is your response?â
Nervously shifting his gaze, Percy attempted to maintain a calm demeanor. âShe intentionally smashed my box! I didnât even touch her!â
Just then, Kyla arrived, her tone filled with anger. âWhatâs happening here? Whoâs harassing my assistant?!â
Percy, seeing his boss arrive, quickly approached her, his expression one of distress. âIâm so relieved youâre here, Miss Wade!â
Kyla then fixed her intense glare on Sadie, her voice cutting and confrontational. âSadie, this is too much! What gives you the right to do something like this?!â
With a composed and cold smile, Sadie replied smoothly, âMiss Wade, perhaps you should get your facts straight first. Your assistant intentionally bumped into my employee, causing her to drop our jewelry box. Weâre actually the injured party here.â
âThatâs absurd!â Kyla exclaimed, pointing accusingly at Sadie, her features twisted in fury. âYouâre just trying to create trouble! Percy would never behave like that!â
Sadieâs expression cooled, her words firm. âThe police will handle the investigation. But Iâm curious, Miss Wade, why do you so passionately defend your assistant? Is there something between you two?â
