Chapter 373
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 373:
Kylaâs blood turned to ice.
âWhat did you just say?â she demanded, her voice razor-sharp.
The assistant held out a tablet, hands trembling. Kyla snatched it and scanned the screen furiously.
Sure enough, the smear campaign had vanishedâevery carefully placed whisper, every planted seed of doubtâgone.
In their place were glowing endorsements for Sadie, professionals in the field voicing their unwavering support, calling her brilliant and inspirational.
âWhat the hell is going on?â she roared, the force of her rage rattling the air.
The assistant flinched.
âIâI donât know for certain, but⦠it looks like Mr. Wallâs team is behind this.â
âNoah?â Kyla hissed, her expression twisting with fury. âHe actually helped her?â Her fingers curled around the tablet in a white-knuckled grip before she flung it to the floor. The screen shattered on impact, the sharp crack slicing through the tense silence.
âI canât believe heâs choosing Sadie over me!â Kyla shouted in disbelief. Silently, the assistant bowed his head, too fearful to make any comment.
Kyla worked to soothe her own nerves.
Meanwhile, within the CEO office of Wall Group, Noah was sitting at his desk, absorbed in a document, with a concerned look knitting his brow.
âSamuel, give me an update,â he said.
Samuel stood before him, beginning, âMr. Wall, weâve effectively removed negative reports about Miss Hudson from the web. Public perception has turned favorable.â
Noahâs eyes flickered with a trace of satisfaction as he responded, âGood.â
Samuel hesitated slightly, then continued, âThereâs another issue⦠It appears the root of these rumors may be connected to Miss Wade.â
Your adventure awaits at gαâηÏνððsâ¤cãm
Noahâs head snapped up.
âWhat did you say?â
âNumerous accounts behind the rumors trace back to the assistant of Miss Wade.â
A shadow fell over Noahâs face.
âKylaâ¦â
His tone was deep, with a dark edge.
Setting aside the document he was reviewing, he clasped his hands together and fixed his gaze on the investigation results on his computer screen.
âAccording to our findings, Miss Wadeâs assistant was involved, but itâs likely that Miss Wade was the mastermind,â Samuel said, his forehead beading with sweat.
Noah remained quiet, the room heavy with silence, as the air thickened with tension.
âVery well,â Noah eventually said. âHave Kyla oversee the project in Slimron.â
Samuel blinked in surprise.
âSlimron?â Although the project was important, its location was notoriously challenging and isolated. This looked like a punishment.
âMr. Wall, about the project in Slimronâ¦â Samuel began.
Noahâs gaze snapped to him sharply.
âWhat? Is there something wrong with my decision?â
âAbsolutely not.â Samuel quickly bowed his head. âI will handle it immediately.â He refrained from further comment and exited the office promptly.
Noahâs decision was final, and any effort to change his mind seemed pointless. Back at Kylaâs luxurious home, the tension was clear.
âHow can he treat me like this for her sake!â Kyla seethed, her usually impeccable makeup doing little to conceal her rage.
