Chapter 387
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 387:
âGood evening, Mrs. Wall,â the staff member said, his tone deferential. âThis bead string was consigned by our boss.â
âYour boss?â Sadie pressed on. âCould you give me their contact information? Iâd like to speak with them.â
The staff member pulled a business card from his pocket and handed it to Sadie. âThis is our bossâs private number. Feel free to contact him directly.â
Sadie took the card, offered her thanks, and dialed the number immediately.
âHello, whoâ¦â
âThis is Sadie Hudson,â Sadie responded crisply. âIâm inquiring about the origins of the bead string from todayâs auction.â
A pause hung on the line before a deep male voice answered, âIâm aware of who you are, Mrs. Wall. We should discuss the bead string in person.â
âAlright,â Sadie agreed promptly. âYou set the time and place.â
The man provided an address and time, which Sadie noted carefully. After the call ended, the slight quickening of her pulse betrayed Sadieâs anticipation.
She secured the business card in her purse.
As she was about to leave the auction venue, a sharp voice halted her. âWell, if it isnât the renowned designer, Sadie?â
Sadie stopped, recognizing the voice instantly.
It was Vivi.
Turning slowly, Sadie fixed a steady gaze on her.
âDo you need something?â Her tone was cool, indicating her disinterest in any conversation.
Vivi stepped closer with a sneer, her eyes scanning Sadie provocatively. âSo, you think youâve made it big now that you are married to Noah? Remember, youâre just aâ¦â

âMiss Quinn,â Sadie cut her off firmly. âYou seem to be confused. Itâs not about who I am. The point is, youâre blocking my way.â
Vivi, taken aback by Sadieâs assertive response, flushed with anger. âWhat are you implying? Who do you think you are? Noahâs wife? Ha! Do you really believe he loves you? Heâs just using you.
Do you honestly think you can take Kylaâs place in Noahâs heart?â
Sadieâs gaze turned icy as she tightened her grip on her bag.
âWhat goes on between Noah and myself is not your concern, just as Kylaâs affairs are her own,â she declared with resolve.
âKeep up the facade!â Vivi sneered. âDo you really think that string of beads means anything? Itâs worthless! Youâll never possess what Kyla does!â
A shadow crossed Sadieâs eyes, yet her lips curled into a mocking smile.
âWorthless? Miss Quinn, your familiarity with the items Kyla owns is curious. Itâs almost as ifâ¦â Sadie paused deliberately, her eyes locked on Viviâs, which stiffened. After a moment, she concluded, âYouâre Kylaâs spokesperson.â
Color rose in Viviâs cheeks, then drained away as though Sadieâs words had struck deep.
âYouâre talking nonsense! Iâm not involved with Kyla!â
âReally?â Sadie raised an eyebrow. âYouâve been bringing up Kyla repeatedly since we started talking. Are you trying to defend her, or to chase after Noah?â Sadie let the question hang in the air, giving Vivi a meaningful glance before she moved to step past her.
Vivi, visibly shaken by the insinuation that touched on her hidden secret, reacted sharply.
âStop right there!â She reached out, seizing Sadieâs arm. âWhat right do you have to make such accusations?â
Sadie wrenched her arm away, her expression steely. âMiss Quinn, itâs not for you to decide if I have the right. But your continual provocationsâdo you really believe they will go unanswered?â
