Chapter 410
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 410:
âResolve the issue?! How in the world are we supposed to do that? Noah is completely under her spell. He wonât even listen to me!â Isabel slumped back into the chair, huffing in a mix of anger and helplessness.
âYou have a point there. After all, Sadie is still staying at Myrtlewood Estate. Perhaps Noah is actually willing to raise another manâs child.â Kylaâs words were deliberate, and her goal was to provoke Isabel further.
âMyrtlewood Estate? That shameless bitch!â Sure enough, Isabelâs anger flared up again. âI canât believe she still has the nerve to stay there after what sheâs done! Letâs go there, right now!â
Isabel stormed off, and Kyla was only too eager to go with her.
It was a slow and peaceful afternoon at Myrtlewood Estate, and everything seemed to have lulled after the rush of midday activities.
An elderly woman with graying hair sat in the living room, her attention focused on the piece she was knitting. Laura was making a cozy new sweater for her adorable great-grandson in preparation for the coming winter.
The sudden, shrill ring of the doorbell disrupted the calm atmosphere in the villa. Breck went to open the door.
Before him stood two imposing women, each portraying a different picture of style and luxury. âMrs. Wall, Miss Wade,â he greeted with a respectful bow.
Isabel ignored Breck, shoving past him to storm into the estate. Kyla was quick on her heels, a cunning smile playing on her lips.
The unexpected intrusion startled the servants, who retreated closer to the walls, as if to make themselves unseen.
âGet out, all of you!â Isabel suddenly yelled, her voice reverberating throughout the house. She then pointed at Breck and glared. âYou, too!â Breck froze for a moment before lowering his head. âYes, Mrs. Wall.â
He gestured at the other servants, taking them out of the villa with him, then closed the door behind him.

Isabel swept her gaze over the living room until it landed on Laura.
âWho are you?â Isabel demanded in a decidedly hostile tone.
Laura looked up, bewildered by the two womenâs presence. âIâm sorry, who are you? Are you looking for Sadie? Sheâs not home at the moment.â
Kyla stepped forward and plastered a surprised expression on her face. âOh, you must be Sadieâs grandmother.â
Laura nodded. âThatâs right. Is there anything you need from Sadie?â
Kyla glanced at Isabel before turning to Laura with a look of pity. âWell, you may be unawareâ¦â
âOf what?â Laura prodded when Kyla trailed off. She had no idea what was going on and had to put her knitting down.
Isabel suddenly let out a cold, humorless laugh. âYour granddaughter has no morals to speak of!â
Lauraâs brows drew into a frown. âWhat are you talking about? Did something happen to Sadie?â
âYouâre asking what happened?â Isabel shrieked. âWell, she cheated on her husband and gave birth to a bastard, and now she expects my son to raise the child!â
Laura was stunned. She couldnât quite process what she was hearing.
âCheated? What bastard? What are you saying? Do you mean that Sadieâs childâ¦â
âWhat do you think?â Isabel spat out disdainfully. âThat boy is the son of some nameless stranger!â
âDoes she really believe sheâs worthy of being part of our family? She ought to reflect on where she truly belongs!â
