Chapter 417
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 417:
Then, in a voice as cold as death itself, he murmured, âIâll kill you myself.â Kylaâs entire body went rigid.
The look in Noahâs eyesâit was unlike anything sheâd ever seen before. Raw, unfiltered, murderous intent. A silent promise of something far worse than pain.
Just as suddenly as he had grabbed her, Noah released his grip. Kyla collapsed against the seat, gulping in air, her body trembling violently. Straightening up, Noah turned to the driver. âTake her to the hospital.â
The driver obeyed instantly, starting the car and pulling away without hesitation. Kyla shivered, her arms wrapping around herself. She could still feel the ghost of Noahâs fingers around her throat. And the way he had looked at her⦠It was a look that would haunt her forever.
Back inside the estate, the living room was a wreckâfurniture overturned, shards of glass glinting under the dim light.
On the sofa, Sadie lay unconscious, her face ghastly pale. Nearby, Isabel sat slumped, her complexion no better, her entire body trembling.
Then, the moment Noah stepped inside, Isabel snapped out of her stupor. She lunged toward him, gripping onto his arm with desperate, shaking hands. âNoah, please⦠I didnât do anything.â Isabelâs voice wavered, panic seeping into every syllable. âWhen I left, her grandmother was fine. I didnât say anything cruelâI swear. I was only looking for Sadie, but she wasnât there, so I left. Thatâs all! You have to believe me!â
Her words tumbled out in a desperate rush, her wide eyes searching Noahâs face for any sign of belief. Noah didnât so much as blink.
He walked past her without a word, his focus solely on Sadie. Bending down, he gathered her into his arms, lifting her as if she weighed nothing at all. His jaw clenched as he looked down at her, unreadable emotions flickering across his face before vanishing behind his usual composure.
Then, he lifted his gaze to Isabel, his voice cutting through the silence like a blade. âNo one touches Sadie.â
Isabel felt the blood drain from her face. There was something chilling in the way he said it.

âSamuel.â The door creaked open, and Samuel stepped inside, his posture crisp, awaiting instruction. Noah didnât take his eyes off Isabel as he spoke. âTake my mother to the estate on the outskirts. She does not return unless I say so.â
Samuel gave a small bow.
âUnderstood, Mr. Wall.â Turning to Isabel, he extended an arm toward the door, his voice respectful but firm. âMrs. Wall, if youâll come with me.â
Isabelâs lips parted as if to protest, but one look at Noahâs expression told her there was no use. He wasnât negotiating. Swallowing hard, she bit back her words, nodding stiffly, and turned on her heel, following Samuel out without another sound.
Noah exhaled slowly, then carried Sadie outside, his movements steady and deliberate. The Maybach was already waiting. He opened the door and placed her carefully in the back seat.
Sliding in beside her, he shut the door. His voice was calm but firm. âDrive. Take us to the hospital.â
The car eased onto the road, slipping into the quiet night.
Noah held Sadieâs hand, his fingers tightening instinctively around hers. She was cold. Too cold.
Without thinking, he pressed her hand against his chest, hoping to transfer some of his body heat to her.
Then, suddenly, a sharp vibration cut through the silence.
Noah pulled a phone from Sadieâs pocket and glanced at the screen. An unfamiliar number.
He hesitated for a fraction of a second before answering.
A womanâs voice, hurried, came through the line. âSadie? Itâs Nanette. Iâve got Averi. Iâm taking him to the location you sentâMyrtlewood Estate. Donât worry. Everythingâs fine.â
