Chapter 446
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 446:
Sadie was walking at a brisk pace, her figure casting long shadows under the streetlights.
Averi nestled himself against her chest, his chubby little face filled with worry.
âSadie!â Noah called out, his voice tinged with a hint of panic.
Sadie slowed to a stop, but she didnât turn around.
âI need to talk to you,â Noah said, stopping a couple of feet behind her.
Sadie took a deep breath before turning to look at him. âWhat else do you have to say, Mr. Wall?â she asked coolly.
Noahâs expression darkened. âI will uncover the truth about your grandmotherâs heart attack. As for Kylaââ
âYes, yes, Kyla is your first love. Your one true love, even. So?â Sadie took a deep breath and let it out in a small, defeated sigh. âIâm tired, Noah. Please, just let me go.â
She gathered Averi closer and started to leave, but Noah seized her wrist.
âSadie, listen to me!â His voice was pleading this time.
But Sadie just shook off his hand as her tears finally fell. âI donât want to hear a single word from you. Itâs over between us, Noah.â
Suddenly, a loud growl from Sadieâs stomach cut through the tense atmosphere.
Her face turned crimson, her embarrassment reaching all the way to her ears.
She wished she could vanish from the spot.
Her stomach had chosen the worst possible moment to betray her.
She awkwardly covered her belly, shooting it a resentful look.
Noahâs previously stern expression softened at the unexpected noise, a faint smile appearing at the corners of his mouth.

He found Sadieâs reaction rather endearing.
Averi, observing the exchange with wide eyes, quickly piped up. âMommy, are you hungry?â His innocent question broke the awkward silence.
Embarrassed, Sadie nodded, her cheeks flushing even more.
All she wanted was to flee the scene, to put as much distance between herself and Noah as possible.
âThen⦠Letâs go eat!â Averi said brightly, his eyes shining with excitement.
Sadie instinctively wanted to decline, but meeting her sonâs hopeful look made it impossible to refuse.
âMommy, letâs go have something yummy, okay?â Averi pleaded, tugging at her arm.
With a resigned sigh, Sadie gave in. She couldnât say no to her son.
âAlrightâ¦â she whispered, her voice soft and resigned.
A glint of amusement appeared in Noahâs eyes.
His decision to win Averiâs favor first seemed to be right.
âWhat would you like to eat?â Noah asked, his voice deep and inviting. He looked at Sadie as he awaited her response.
Sadie kept her gaze lowered, avoiding his eyes. âI⦠Iâm fine with anything,â she muttered.
Her thoughts were too scattered to focus on food choices.
Noahâs expression shifted slightly, a frown forming as he sensed Sadieâs distance.
Turning to Averi, he asked, âWhat would you like to eat?â
âI want⦠hmm⦠I want KFC!â Averi declared eagerly, his eyes alight with anticipation.
âKFC?â Noah frowned deeper. âChoose something else.â He refused without a second thought.
