Chapter 453
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 453:
But life doesnât bend to âif only.â
His opportunity was lost, and the past was irreversible.
A rueful smile appeared on Noahâs face as he turned to walk down the road.
But soon, he was abruptly stopped by a figure.
Under the glow of a streetlamp stood Kyla, her expression ghostly and sorrowful.
âWhy are you here?â Noah asked, his tone cold and detached.
âI just wanted to explain what happened. I didnât mean toâ¦â Kylaâs voice shook, her eyes brimming with tears.
Noah interjected sharply, âStop. I donât want to listen to any excuses.â He tried to move past her, but Kyla, persistent, grabbed his sleeve.
âPlease stay, Noah. Hear me outâ¦â
Noah abruptly pulled his arm away, causing Kyla to lose her balance and fall to the cold ground.
âOuch!â she exclaimed, hitting the pavement, her hand scraping against it and starting to bleed.
âHow could you do this to me?â Kyla looked up at Noah, tears streaking down her face, her voice a shaky mix of pain and desperation. Noahâs expression remained cold as he looked down at her.
Feeling his cold stare, Kyla shivered, her complexion growing paler.
âNoah, I admit my mistakes. I was wrong to treat Sadie that way. Itâs just that my love for you is so strong, I feared I might lose youâ¦â Her words faded to a whisper.
âLove for me?â Noah scoffed dismissively.
âNoahâ¦â Kyla attempted to continue, but he interjected. âKyla, letâs be clear. If you hadnât saved my life once, do you really think youâd still be here? You would have been gone a long time ago.â

Kyla felt as though a knife had pierced her heart at his words.
Her face turned even paler, and her lips quivered, but she found herself speechless. She was determined not to let the situation spiral out of control. There had to be a solution.
âNoah⦠Iâm pleading with you, please donât do this.â Kylaâs voice faltered as she pleaded with him. âIâll go away. You wonât have to deal with me again.â Noahâs expression shifted, his eyebrows knitting together in mild surprise.
âReally, Iâll go. You have my word,â Kyla said vigorously, almost as if she feared he doubted her sincerity.
âYou need to assure me youâll never show your face to me or Sadie again,â Noah demanded.
âI give you my word. I swear it,â Kyla replied, her voice shaking with earnestness.
Pausing briefly, she looked up at Noah warily. âAnd one more thingâ¦â She hesitated before continuing, âAbout the International Jewelry Design Competition, could you possibly⦠Could you consider letting my friend Vivi win?â
Noah was taken aback by the request. Unaware that Sadie was also a competitor, he casually consented. âProceed as you wish. Itâs merely a minor contest.â
He considered the outcome of the competition trivial compared to his primary concern: Sadieâs well-being.
âThank you, Noah. Thank you so muchâ¦â Kylaâs face brightened as she repeatedly expressed her gratitude.
Without saying a word, Noah turned and walked away, not looking back. As he left, Kylaâs gaze lingered on him, her face soon twisting into a slight, sinister smirk.
âSo, Sadie, you think youâve won, huh?â she murmured to herself. âIf I canât be with Noah, Iâll make sure you wonât be either.â
