Chapter 459
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 459:
âNanette, donât cry. Take your time. No matter whatâs happened, Iâm here for you,â Sadie reassured her, gently patting her back.
Her words seemed to comfort Nanette a little.
âSadieâ¦â Nanette finally said, her voice still raspy. âIâm sorryâ¦â
Sadieâs heart jolted.
An hour later, Kyla lounged in her luxurious villa, sipping red wine. She wore a silk robe, her flawless skin and long legs enhancing her allure.
âDingâ¦â The chime of a text message interrupted the silence. Kyla placed her wine glass on the table, grabbed her phone, and glanced at the screen nonchalantly.
The message was from Nanette, concise yet profound. âMiss Wade, Iâm willing to work with you.â
A smug smile crept across Kylaâs face. She had known all along Nanette wouldnât refuse her.
âSadie, just you wait! The real show has just begun,â she whispered, setting her phone down and once more picking up her wine glass, the liquid swirling elegantly.
Meanwhile, in the CEOâs office of Wall Group, Noah stood by a floor-to-ceiling window, whiskey glass in hand, staring into the blackness outside. Documents piled on his desk awaited his attention, but his mind wandered.
âDamn it!â he muttered, gulping down the whiskey.
It scorched his throat but failed to quell his frustration. Annoyed, he loosened his tie and unbuttoned the top of his shirt, exposing his collarbones and the firm lines of his chest.
Compelled by a sudden urge, he snatched his car keys and exited the office. His black Maybach sliced through the night, halting on the road beside Sadieâs neighborhood.
From the driverâs seat, Noah looked up at Sadieâs window, where a warm light flickered in the darkness, stirring something within him.

âWhat am I doing?â He scoffed at himself, a bitter laugh escaping his lips. âIâm like a lovesick teenager.â
He was ready to drive away when a movement caught his eyeâa familiar figure not far away.
Vivi? What was she doing here?
His brows knitted together as he rolled down the window for a clearer view.
Vivi was maneuvering a shopping cart laden with household items when her foot suddenly slipped, sending her tumbling forward.
âOuch!â she exclaimed, crashing to the ground as her belongings scattered around her.
âWell, thatâs what you get,â Noah remarked coldly, preparing to look away.
Just then, Vivi lifted her head and saw Noah. Their eyes met, and for a fleeting second, surprise flashed across Viviâs face. Quickly, she scrambled to her feet, brushing off her clothes and hastily smoothing down her tousled hair. She strode toward Noahâs car with a radiant smile.
Leaning slightly against the car window, she flashed him a bright, saccharine grin. âMr. Wall, do you live around here too? What a small world.â
Noahâs expression remained unreadable, his gaze sharp and indifferent. A shiver of unease curled in Viviâs stomach, but she refused to let it show. She tilted her head, feigning innocence. âSo⦠are you here to visit someone?â She let the question linger, her voice dripping with meaning, as if she already knew the answer.
Noah barely spared her a glance before his voice cut through the air like a blade. âThatâs none of your concern.â
Without another word, he pressed the button, and the car window slid up, shutting her out in one seamless, dismissive motion.
Viviâs smile wavered, then vanished. She clenched her jaw, biting her lip to keep the sting of humiliation at bay.
