Chapter 462
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 462:
Alex started to respond, but was interrupted by a familiar voice. âWhat are you two arguing about?â Sadie had just walked in.
She lingered in the doorway, her expression one of puzzlement as she absorbed the charged atmosphere of her apartment.
Upon seeing Sadie, Alex immediately tempered his demeanor, his frustration yielding to a tender concern. âYouâre back, Sadie.â
He approached her, his tone warm. âAre you okay? I was worried about you.â
Sadie met his gaze briefly, her response detached. âIâm fine.â
âSadie.â Alex paused, struggling with his words. âAbout earlier today⦠Iâm sorry. My mother didnât mean any harm.â
Sadieâs complexion blanched. She steadied herself, replying, âAlex, the issue was a misunderstanding on your motherâs part.â
âButâ¦â Alex attempted to elaborate, but Sadie interrupted him. âThatâs enough. Letâs drop it.â Her voice bore exhaustion. âIâm tired. I need to rest.â
Alex looked at her, his face etched with worry. He opened his mouth to speak, seeking to comfort her, but found himself at a loss for words.
Noah observed from a distance, his demeanor cool. He could sense the special bond between Sadie and Alex, a connection he felt excluded from. Jealousy gnawed at him, fueling wild speculation that Sadie and Alex might have discussed serious commitments, like marriage. This thought only deepened his irritation.
âPak!â Abruptly, Noah snapped his fingers.
Instantly, men in black suits burst in, their movements swift and coordinated, as they encircled Alex.
âWhat are you doing, Noah?â Sadie exclaimed, panic rising as she stepped forward to intervene.
But Noah was quick to seize her wrist, drawing her close. His eyes were cold as he stared at Alex. âTake him away.â

âUnderstood, Mr. Wall,â the men in black responded in unison, moving to apprehend Alex.
âLet me go! Let go of me!â Alex struggled in vain.
âRelease him, Noah!â Sadie tried to break free from Noahâs firm grasp, but he held fast.
âPak!â Noah snapped his fingers once more. This time, a new group of men surrounded Averi.
âAveri!â Sadieâs scream tore through the air as panic overwhelmed her. Driven by instinct, she lunged toward her son.
But the men were quicker. One scooped up the confused boy from the dining table.
âWhat are you doing? Put him down!â Sadie cried out, her voice sharp with desperation as she attempted to advance. Noah stood firm, blocking her path.
He wrapped his arms around her waist, pinning her against him.
âHave you lost your mind?â Sadie yelled, struggling violently, her nails leaving trails of blood on his arm. Yet Noah seemed impervious to the pain.
âMommy⦠Mommyâ¦â Averiâs terrified voice cut through the chaos. He squirmed in the manâs grasp, his cries adding to the heartbreak of the scene.
Sadie stopped struggling, her face streaked with tears as she looked up at Noah. Her voice was shaking. âNoah⦠What⦠What do you want?â
Noahâs expression was dark and unreadable as he leaned close, his breath warm against her ear. His voice was low, compelling, and dangerously seductive. âSadie, do you really⦠crave a man that much?â
âYouâ¦â Sadieâs voice faltered. She couldnât find the words.
Noahâs grip tightened, pulling her closer as if trying to fuse her to him.
Noah leaned close and whispered in Sadieâs ear, âIf you ever need a man⦠you know where to find me.â
