Chapter 502
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 502:
Bang!
With a dull thud, pain exploded in her forehead, and blood streamed down her face.
Sadie collapsed to the floor, knocked out cold.
âBoss⦠She⦠She doesnât seem to be movingâ¦â one thug said nervously, glancing at the motionless Sadie.
âDid we⦠did we kill her?â another thug asked, his voice laced with alarm.
The leader felt a chill run through him. He nudged Sadie with his foot, but she didnât respond, heightening his anxiety.
âEnough!â he spat. âLetâs get out of here.â
Relieved, the thugs quickly followed him out of the studio, leaving chaos behind.
The studio was a disaster zone: papers, drawings, shattered glass, and broken wood scattered everywhere, the air thick with the smell of blood and dust. Sadie lay sprawled on the floor, bloodied and battered, a distressing sight.
Two hours laterâ¦
âThose fools must wish for death, daring to touch Mr. Wallâs woman.â Having worked with Noah for years, Arlo Blake, the head of the bodyguard team, was accustomed to big scenes. But the sight before him made his scalp tingle. He had thought that, in broad daylight, with Mr. Wallâs specific instructions to protect Sadie, nothing could go wrong.
His team had been nearby, unwinding and chatting, not anticipating such rapid chaos.
Sadieâs studio looked as though it had been plowed by a herd of wild bulls. The place was devastated, littered with papers, shattered glass, and broken wood, thick with the smell of blood and dust.
Sadie lay amidst a pool of blood, her pale face and wounded body painting a gruesome scene.

Blood stained Sadieâs white blouse.
Arloâs mind went blank, as if struck by lightning.
âMrs. Wall? Mrs. Wall!â The usually stoic bodyguards now spoke with trembling voices and teary eyes. They were Noahâs most trusted protectors, responsible for his safety as well as the safety of his loved ones. Yet, under their watch, Sadie had suffered serious injuries. Would they even survive Noahâs wrath?
Arlo slapped himself hard. âWhat are you doing standing there? Call an ambulance now!â He regained his senses and barked the order at the other stunned bodyguards.
Snapping out of their daze, they scrambled to dial emergency services. âMrs. Wall, wake up! Hang in there! The ambulance is on its way.â Arlo knelt beside Sadie, his voice shaking as he tried to wake her.
But Sadie lay still, her eyes closed, her breathing barely perceptible.
âAlert! Everyone, go to full alert and lock down the area!â Arlo composed himself and began issuing orders with precision. âYouâretrieve all surveillance footage from here! And you, ask the locals if they noticed anything unusual. The rest of you, stay here and secure the scene until the police arrive.â
The bodyguards sprang into action, and the studioâs atmosphere tensed.
The sharp ring of a phone pierced the solemnity of the boardroom where Noah was leading a shareholdersâ meeting. Everyone had been sitting upright, listening intently to his speech. Noah frowned; interruptions during meetings irked him.
But when he saw the caller IDâSamuelâhis heart raced. Samuel, his most trusted aide, would only call now for an urgent matter.
Noah gestured for a pause, stood, and left the boardroom to answer the call.
âMr. Wallâ¦â Samuelâs voice came through, urgent and shaky.
âWhatâs happened?â
