Chapter 515
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 515:
A cold, cruel glint flickered in Noahâs eyes. âWhat about the Howe Group?â
Samuelâs expression turned grim. âThe Howe Group has reached a collaboration agreement with the Perry Group. Aliza and Alex are engaged to be married.â
âAnd Susannah?â Noah spat out, his voice laced with venom.
âSusannah has been staying at home for the past few days. She hasnât gone outside, so our men⦠well, they had no reason to act.â Samuel lowered his head.
Noah fell into a heavy silence.
âMr. Wall, perhaps itâs best if you return to the company for now,â Samuel urged once more. âThe doctors and nurses here are very competent. Everything will be fine. Besidesâ¦â His voice dropped to a whisper as he added, âWeâve been keeping Mrs. Wallâs situation from Mrs. Stewart and Averi, but the boy keeps asking where his mother is. Iâm afraid we may not be able to keep it a secret for much longer.â
Noah stiffened when he heard that.
He had been so consumed by Sadieâs condition that he had completely forgotten about her son.
âHow is Averi?â Noah asked.
âHe is doing well, but he misses his mother,â Samuel replied softly. âEvery day, he comes up to me and asks when she will be back. At this point, Iâm running out of excuses to give him.â
A flicker of guilt passed over Noahâs face. He owed Sadie so much.
He slowly got to his feet. âLetâs go.â
He took one last glance at Sadie before turning away and walking out of the hospital room.
Samuel followed quickly on his heels.
âBring Averi over,â Noah suddenly said as they strode down the hallway.

âWhat?â Samuel was momentarily stunned, but soon understood Noahâs intention. âI understand, Mr. Wall.â
âWait.â Noah stopped short. He looked like he wanted to say something but second-guessed himself at the last second. âNever mind. Letâs wait until she wakes up.â
Samuel stared at Noahâs back and sighed to himself. He knew that Noah was worried about Averiâs reaction if he saw his mother in such a state. They didnât want to frighten the child.
Once back at Wall Group, Noah dove right in, handling the backlogs with his usual efficiency.
Just as Samuel had warned, several senior shareholders made their move during the next shareholdersâ meeting. They criticized Noah for his absence and bluntly called for his removal from the position of CEO.
âWhere have you been these past few days, Mr. Wall? The company is facing so many issues, yet you, the CEO, disappeared without a word. How can we entrust the future of this company to you?â This came from a senior shareholder with gray hair.
âHe is right, Mr. Wall! Your actions have been highly irresponsible.â
âIndeed. We chose you to be the CEO because we have faith in your abilities. That doesnât give you the right to just up and go as you please.â
âI agree.â
Soon enough, the other shareholders chimed in with similar sentiments. They collectively attacked Noah and questioned his qualifications as CEO.
Noah sat silently at the head of the long table, his face blank as he listened to their accusations.
These geezers were simply trying to seize more power, and they all knew it.
âAre you done?â Noah finally spoke once the commotion started to die down. Although his tone was calm, it commanded the room with his distinct air of authority.
