Chapter 527
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 527:
Alex, stunned, turned to Aliza. âIs this true?â
Aliza looked up, her eyes steady, her voice resolute. âAlex, I wouldnât deceive you. All the evidence Iâve gathered points directly to Noah; heâs been manipulating everything from behind the scenes.â
âButâ¦â
Alex struggled with the revelation. He knew Noah to be ruthless, yet he had always conducted himself with integrity. How could he be involved in such deceit?
They had grown up together, and he thought he understood his old friend.
âNo buts!â Terrance interjected firmly. âAlex, this is not the time for rash decisions. Howe Group and Wall Group are at a point where itâs either us or them. You need to cooperate with Aliza, confront the Wall Group, and safeguard Howe Group.â
Alex remained silent.
He understood his fatherâs resolve; once Terrance made up his mind, it was nearly impossible to sway him.
The evidence Aliza presented also made him reconsider his perspective on Noah.
âI understand, Dad.â Alexâs voice was low, slightly rough. âIâll give it my all.â
âYou must prevail!â Terranceâs voice hardened. âAlex, youâre my son. You cannot afford to lose, especially not to Noah.â
Alex responded only by tightening his fists.
âAlso,â Terrance said, his voice softening, âbe kinder to Aliza. She has been instrumental to you and Howe Group. Donât disappoint her.â
Aliza trembled slightly at these words. She looked at Alex, her eyes conveying both hope and a trace of grievance.
Alex glanced at her, a wave of irritation washing over him.
He was aware of her feelings for him and everything she had done on his behalf, yet he couldnât shake his feelings for Sadie.

âDad,â Alex began, attempting to clarify, but Aliza cut him off.
âMr. Howe, please,â she said, shaking her head, âAlex is simply overwhelmed with work. Itâs alright.â
Alizaâs voice quivered with suppressed emotion, casting her in a particularly sympathetic light.
Terrance regarded her, a fleeting trace of sympathy appearing in his eyes. âAliza, youâre a good girl. Donât worry. As long as Iâm here, I wonât let Alex mistreat you.â
âThank you, Howe.â Aliza bowed her head, the corners of her lips twitching into a faint smile.
âAlright, Aliza. You may leave now. I need to speak with Alex,â Terrance said.
âOkay,â Aliza replied meekly and turned to leave the office.
As she closed the door behind her, the faint smile disappeared, replaced by a steely expression.
Inside the office, Terrance turned his cold gaze on Alex.
âAlex, are you still thinking about that woman?â he asked sharply.
Alex tensed; he knew his father was referring to Sadie. âDad, Iâ¦â
âIâm warning you, Alex!â Terranceâs voice rose sharply. âIf you get involved with that woman again, if you hurt Aliza, I assure you that woman and her child will find themselves in a dire situation.â
Terranceâs words pierced Alex like icy blades.
Alex stared at his father in disbelief. âDad, how can you say such a thing?â
âWhy shouldnât I?â Terrance retorted coldly. âWho does she think she is? What makes her worthy of you?â
