Chapter 551
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 551:
âMommy, can we go home now?â Averi asked with wide, hopeful eyes.
âYes, sweetheart. We can go home now,â Sadie replied softly, stroking his head.
At that moment, there was a knock on the hospital room door.
âCome in, please,â Sadie called out.
Jim entered, wearing his white coat, a document in hand and a gentle smile on his face.
âCongratulations on your discharge,â he said.
âThank you,â Sadie responded with a smile.
Jim paused, then turned to Averi. âLittle guy, are you happy to go home today?â
Averi nodded enthusiastically, his face lighting up. âYes! I can go home with Mommy now!â
Jim chuckled, then his expression turned serious as he faced Sadie.
âSadie, thereâs something I need to discuss with you.â
âWhat is it?â Sadie asked, sensing the seriousness in his tone.
âAlex contacted me,â Jim revealed.
Sadieâs expression changed, a mix of emotions passing over her face. âWhat did he say?â she inquired, her voice slightly wavering.
Jim glanced at Averi, then hesitated.
Understanding the situation, Sadie said to Averi, âSweetie, can you wait in the car for Mommy? I need to talk to Jim for a moment, and then Iâll be right there.â
Averi, though slightly confused, nodded obediently. âOkay, Mommy. Iâll wait for you.â
After Averi left, Sadie faced Jim, ready to continue their conversation.

After parting ways with Jim, Sadie took Averi back to Myrtlewood Estate.
Upon arriving, Averi hurried into the living room, eager to play with his toys.
Sadie watched him go, her face softening into a gentle smile.
âWelcome back, Mrs. Wall,â Breck greeted her respectfully as she entered.
âThank you,â Sadie replied, then asked, âWhereâs Noah?â
âMr. Wall came home early today; heâs in the study,â Breck informed her.
Surprised, Sadie raised her eyebrows slightly. It was rare for Noah to be home so early. What was happening today?
A sense of unease settled in Sadieâs heart, but she composed herself and responded, âI see.â
She removed her coat, handed it to Breck, and then made her way toward the study.
Pausing at the door, Sadie took a deep breath and knocked softly.
âEnter,â came Noahâs deep, resonant voice from within.
Pushing the door open, Sadie stepped inside.
Noah was seated at his desk, a document in hand, his brow furrowed in thought.
As the door opened, he looked up, his eyes meeting Sadieâs.
Sadieâs heart skipped a beat.
Noahâs gaze was profound and enigmatic, like a vast, unreadable sea.
âYouâre back,â he stated simply, setting aside the document.
âYes,â Sadie replied, taking a seat across from him.
