Chapter 562
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 562:
Sadie looked down at her son, her voice gentle. âAveri, please go inside, Mommy needs to speak with Samuel.â
Averi nodded and hurried into the villa on his small legs.
Once he was inside, Sadie turned back to Samuel. âLetâs talk in the garden,â she suggested.
They walked to the garden of Myrtlewood Estate, where flowers blossomed abundantly and trees cast cool shadows.
They moved along the cobblestone path in silence until Samuel broke it.
âMrs. Wall, how have you been these past three years?â he asked tentatively.
Sadie stopped and turned to him, her gaze icy.
âWhether I have been well or not is surely of little concern to you, Mr. Ford, isnât it?â she responded coolly.
Samuel was taken aback, painfully aware of the resentment Sadie still felt about events from three years ago.
âMrs. Wall, regarding what happened three years ago, Mr. Wall⦠Heâ¦â
Samuel attempted to explain.
âMr. Ford,â Sadie cut him off, her tone both calm and assertive. âI am not interested in revisiting the past. If thatâs the reason for your visit, then perhaps our conversation is over.â
She was determined not to dredge up old pain, having suffered enough already.
Samuel watched her determined stance, sighing in resignation. âMrs. Wall, I realize you still hold grievances against Mr. Wall. But do you truly understand him?â he asked, his voice carrying a hint of urgency.
Sadie stopped but didnât turn around.

Samuelâs voice faltered as if the memories of those days overwhelmed him.
Sadieâs body trembled slightly. She slowly turned to face Samuel, her eyes brimming with a tumult of emotions.
âIs all this true?â Her voice was hoarse, quivering almost imperceptibly.
Samuel nodded earnestly. âAbsolutely, Mrs. Wall. Mr. Wall deeply regretted everything that happened three years ago. Heâ¦â
âEnough!â Sadie cut him off sharply, her emotions cresting. âDonât say any more! I canât bear to hear it!â
She covered her ears, shaking her head emphatically.
She didnât want to hear about what Noah had endured for her, afraid it might sway her resolve, soften her heart.
Yet, inside, her heart ached deeply.
Samuel observed Sadieâs anguished expression, feeling a deep sympathy.
âMrs. Wall, thereâs something else you need to know,â he said, taking a deep breath.
Sadie lowered her hands and faced him, confusion clouding her eyes.
âRecently, your studio was vandalized, and there was your kidnappingâ¦â Samuel spoke in a hushed tone, as if wary of eavesdroppers.
Sadieâs pupils dilated in shock as she absorbed his words, her voice trembling. âWhy⦠Why are you bringing these up now?â
