Chapter 615
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 615:
Samuel steadied his voice and continued, âThe driver said at the moment of the accident, he saw a woman push Mrs. Stewart onto the road. He failed to stop the car in time. From his description, it seems the woman who pushed Mrs. Stewart was Miss Wade.â
A flash of intense fury crossed Noahâs face. âWhere is she?â he demanded.
Samuel shivered, quickly replying, âAfter the incident, Miss Wade went back to her old apartment. Sheâs now detained.â Noahâs face darkened further. He had not anticipated such a turn of events.
âDonât tell Sadie yet. Sheâs been through enough. Weâll talk about this later.â
âUnderstood, Mr. Wall.â
Noah turned to walk away, just as the elevator doors opened nearby. Alex and Stan stepped out. Alex had hurried to the hospital after hearing about Lauraâs accident and accidentally caught the tail end of Noahâs conversation with Samuel.
âMr. Howe, do you think Mr. Wall will choose Miss Wade or Miss Hudson this time?â Stan asked cautiously.
Alexâs brows knitted together tightly. He stopped and turned around. âSadie shouldnât be kept in the dark.â Three years earlier, Sadie had been emotionally scarred and humiliated because of Noah and Kyla. Alex was determined not to let her suffer further harm.
âFind a way to bring Kyla out,â he commanded.
Stan hesitated, his expression troubled. âMr. Howe, explaining this to Mr. Wall might be challenging.â
Alex clenched his fists, his voice growing cold. âWe donât have time for hesitation.â If Noah was planning anything against Sadie, Alex would prevent it. For Sadie, he was prepared to take any action necessary.
âAlright, Mr. Howe. Iâll take care of it immediately.â Stan quickly nodded, deciding not to protest further.
In the hospital morgue, Sadie stood by the mortuary bed, looking at Laura, who appeared to be sleeping peacefully. This brought her a slight comfort. With trembling hands, she placed the white magnolia pendant on Lauraâs chest.

âGrandma, donât worry. Iâll take good care of Averi and myself. Please rest in peace,â she whispered, biting her lip as she vowed, âI will find out who did this to you and make them pay.â
âLaura, rest assured. Iâll look after Sadie.â A voice suddenly broke the silence. It was Noah. He approached and stood next to Sadie.
She ignored him.
âWill you really take good care of Sadie, Mr. Wall?â Alexâs voice echoed in the room before he appeared. Striding in, he confronted Noah. âIf you truly care about Sadie, why protect the murderer?â
At those words, Sadie spun around, her expression one of shock as she instinctively stepped back from Noah. Noahâs face darkened immediately. He glared at Alex, warning sharply, âStop spreading lies, Alex!â
âAm I wrong?â Alex retorted with a sneer.
The room seemed to spin around Sadie. She leaned against the wall for support. âWhat has happened?â
Noah reached for her hand, his voice urgent. âSadie, youâre distressed. Letâs discuss this later, okay?â But Sadie was resolute. She yanked her hand away.
âI canât wait. Grandmaâs death is shrouded in mystery. I need to know the truth now.â
