Chapter 619
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 619:
But Noah never spared her a backward glance, and soon enough, he was out of sight.
Deflated, Kyla was ultimately dragged away by the bodyguards.
Moments later, Noah entered his house and was greeted by a frantic-looking Breck.
âSir, youâre finally back!â
âWhat happened?â Noah asked, feeling an inexplicable wave of dread washing over him.
Breck hesitated and fiddled with his fingers before saying, âMrs. Wall has locked herself in her room. She hasnât eaten or drunk anything ever since she was brought back, and she refuses to answer the door.â
Noah frowned in concern.
âMr. Wall, what happened to Mom?â
A soft, innocent voice suddenly rang out.
Standing at the top of the stairs, Averi was clutching a dinosaur doll, his eyes wide with innocence.
Noahâs heart immediately softened. He walked over with a sigh and knelt in front of the little boy.
âDonât worry, Averi. Mom is just a little tired and wants to rest. How about we do puzzles later?â
âOkay!â Averi lit up in an instant. He ran off, still hugging his precious toy.
Noahâs expression turned somber as he straightened and turned to Breck.
âTell the kitchen staff to prepare some of Sadieâs favorite dishes âlight ones. Send them up as soon as theyâre ready. Also, let her know that Mrs. Stewartâs funeral is scheduled for the day after tomorrow.â
Breck nodded and went to carry out his instructions.

Left alone, Noah could only stare at the closed door of the master bedroom.
Frustration came over him.
Meanwhile, inside the room in question, the atmosphere was dark and oppressive.
Sadie was curled up on the bed, clutching a photo tightly against her chest. It was a picture of her and her grandmother from happier times, before Lauraâs health had begun to fail.
Sadie bit her lower lip, desperately trying to hold back her tears, but her body trembled uncontrollably. Regret weighed heavily on her heart. Why had she allowed herself to lose control and marry Noah? If she hadnât met him, if it hadnât been for this absurd marriage, would her grandmother still be alive?
A soft knock at the door interrupted her spiraling thoughts.
âMrs. Wall, Mr. Wall asked the kitchen to prepare your favorite glazed chicken and pot roast, along with some warm milk. Please eat something, even if itâs just a little,â Breckâs gentle voice called from outside. âMr. Wall also mentioned that Mrs. Stewartâs funeral is set for the day after tomorrow.â
There was a long silence. Sadie didnât respond, lost in her sorrow, until Breck, sensing her hesitation, was about to leave.
The door suddenly opened, and Sadie stood there, her eyes swollen from crying.
âIs Noah back?â she rasped.
âYes, madam,â Breck replied, his voice caught off guard by her appearance. âMr. Wall is with Averi.â
Sadie barely registered his words. Without another word, she turned and stormed down the hallway toward Averiâs room. She had to see Noahâshe needed to speak with him.
