Chapter 645
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 645:
Her tone was calm, her face blank.
By all appearances, she seemed detached from the affairs of the Wall family.
As she exited the building, Samuel opened the door to the backseat of the car waiting in the driveway.
He couldnât help but admire Sadie as he looked at her.
After Noah fell into a coma, she had transformed into someone completely different.
She managed to stabilize the turmoil threatening Wall Group with straightforward and decisive tactics. Then, she systematically dealt with the predators circling the company, searching for a weak link to infiltrate. She had also subdued Sutton and Briley effortlessly, and now, they no longer dared to cause any trouble.
The once sheltered young woman had become a formidable force in the business world.
Yet behind her strong exterior, there were untold sorrows and heartachesâchallenges that only Samuel had witnessed firsthand.
Sadie, of course, was oblivious to Samuelâs thoughts.
She settled into the car and immediately opened her schedule. âHas the marketing department completed the preliminary selection for the overseas partner companies?â
Samuel nodded in response.
âThe marketing department has selected the Burgess family. They have rapidly developed over the past couple of years and are now one of the top families in Zupren. Theyâve emerged as an unexpected contender on the international scene, and sources say they are now on par with the Wall Group.â
Sadie wasnât surprised to hear this.
She had already heard of the Burgess family three years ago. Back then, they were on the brink of collapse, struggling with overwhelming debts and an unrelenting swarm of creditors. Yet, in just three short years, the Burgess family managed to make a comeback and even rise to join the elite.

They must have employed unconventional strategies to achieve such an accomplishment.
âCoyle and Sutton seem to be in frequent contact with the current chairman of the Burgess Group, Patrick Noel,â Samuel continued. âIâve heard that he is the husband of the Burgess familyâs heiress. But this Mr. Noel is very mysterious. Thereâs no public information about him, not even a single photograph.â
Sadie furrowed her brows slightly at that and tapped her finger on her knee.
After a momentâs consideration, she instructed, âArrange a meeting with Mr. Noel for me. In our line of work, itâs always better to have more friends than enemies.â
âOf course, Ms. Hudson. Iâll make the appointment right away.â
Just minutes later, the car pulled over in front of the company.
Instead of getting out, Samuel hesitated for a moment and then said, âMs. Hudson, the people we sent to Rosewood Hospital have reported back. Still no news.â
Sadie seemed to fall into a daze for a brief moment but quickly regained her composure with a sharp intake of breath.
She said nothing in response to Samuelâs words, simply opened the door and entered the company building.
Tina approached Sadie as soon as the latter came into view. âMs. Hudson, the detective just delivered two sets of documents. Theyâre already in your office.â
Sadie nodded without breaking her stride. âBriley still hasnât come to the company?â
