Chapter 648
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 648:
âAn outsider?â she scoffed, her tone dripping with sarcasm. âHave you forgotten who holds the power in Wall Group right now? Who is preserving the last bit of dignity for your branch of the family?â
Sutton fell into silence at that, his face turning sour. He wanted to retort, of course, but found that there was nothing he could say.
Sadie couldnât be bothered to waste any more of her time on them. She glanced at Samuel and said, âEscort them out. Drag them if necessary.â
Samuel gave a brisk nod in response and signaled to the bodyguards to take action.
Seeing this, Sutton grew even more incensed. He opened his mouth, no doubt to let out another rant.
âSutton,â Sadie interrupted before he could utter a single word. âIt would do you some good to watch your mouth. Consider this a warning. If you dare speak to me with such disrespect again, I promise you, there will be consequences.â
But he remained defiant.
âYou bitch! Donât get too cocky! You think becoming the chairman changes anything? Iâm telling you right now, the Wall Group will never be yours!â
Sadie just stared at him, her heart calm and steady. These were nothing more than empty threats to her, and she didnât care in the slightest.
âIs that so?â she asked lightlyâdismissively. âGo ahead and try, then.â
By that point, Suttonâs face was red with rage.
âFine, Sadie! Remember, you asked for it!â He spoke through gritted teeth, but there was a new determination in his gaze, as though he had made a significant decision.
Sensing that his son was about to act rashly, Coyle rushed to intervene.
âThatâs enough, Sutton!â

âDid you hear what she just said, Dad? She doesnât respect our family at all!â
Coyle sullenly glared at his son, silently ordering him to stop talking. As much as he hated it, Sutton obediently shut his mouth and lowered his head.
Coyle tried to look pained as he turned back to Sadie.
âSadie, I know you are not satisfied with our branch. But if there are any misunderstandings, Iâm sure we can talk them out. Why blow things out of proportion and back us into a corner?â
Sadie almost laughed at that last part. This particular family really had a talent for playing the victims. Wasnât it them who had been scheming and plotting against her at every turn?
Unfortunately for Coyle, Sadie had already seen through his facade. She knew exactly what he was likeâhypocritical, insidious, and opportunistic. He would say anything and do anything to achieve his goals.
Arguing with him would only be a waste of time and energy.
âYou didnât come all the way to Wall Manor just to question me about this, did you, Coyle?â Sadie cut straight to the point.
Coyleâs face stiffened, and his eyes flickered for a brief second.
Since Sadie had more or less seen through his act, Coyle saw no reason to continue with the pretense.
âYouâre quite straightforward, arenât you?â he said with a light chuckle.
âWell, now that itâs come to this, Iâll stop beating around the bush. What are you planning to do about Briley?â
As expected, Coyle and Sutton had stormed over because of Brileyâs dismissal.
