Chapter 660
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 660:
It didnât take long before they were pulling up in front of Rosewood Hospital.
The entrance was under tight security.
Sadie and Samuel had to give a lengthy explanation before they were allowed access to the building.
Inside, the hallways were silent and almost empty.
Samuel approached the reception desk and explained their purpose for visiting.
After verifying their identities, the staff member led them to an office door.
âDr. Lopez is waiting for you inside,â she said politely before taking her leave.
Sure enough, a middle-aged doctor in a white lab coat and gold-rimmed glasses was waiting for them on the other side of the door.
He stood up and extended his hand to Sadie.
âHello, Ms. Hudson. My name is Ansel Lopez. I was Mr. Wallâs attending physician here at Rosewood Hospital.â
Sadie shook his hand once.
âItâs nice to meet you, Dr. Lopez. I need to knowâwhere is Noah right now?â
Anselâs expression was a cross between regret and sympathy.
âIâm very sorry. We did everything we could, but Mr. Wall was ultimately brain-dead, and we couldnât revive him.â
Sadieâs heart, which had been hanging in suspense all this time, suddenly plummeted into a dark abyss.
She felt her body grow colder by the second, as if she, too, had died.
She lunged over the desk and grabbed Anselâs arm.
âWhere is he?â she demanded. âI need to see him!â

The doctor shook his head.
âMr. Wallâs body was sent for cremation this morning. You may collect the ashes in an hour or two.â
Cremated?
Ashes?
Sadie was frozen on the spot.
That was impossible.
She hadnât even seen him one last time, hadnât said her goodbyes.
How could they cremate him without informing her first?
Sadie finally broke down.
Her hands traveled up to clutch Anselâs collar.
âHow can you cremate him without his familyâs approval?â she screamed in his face while shaking him. âLiar! I donât believe a word you just said!â
Tears were streaming down her face, her shoulders shaking as she sobbed and choked on her words.
Ansel tried to step back, startled by Sadieâs outburst.
âPlease calm down, Ms. Hudson.â
âIt was part of the agreement that was signed upon Mr. Wallâs admissionâhis body would be cremated immediately after he passed away,â Ansel said. âI assure you, it was all in accordance with the hospitalâs regulations.â
Agreement?
Sadie shoved Ansel aside and stumbled out of his office.
