Chapter 677
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 677:
When they were done, Barry left in a rush to attend to other engagements, leaving Sadie and Noah alone yet again. However, the atmosphere had turned quiet and heavy.
Sadieâs first instinct was to leave the scene as quickly as she could.
âIf thereâs nothing else, Mr. Noel, I shall be on my way.â
âWait,â Noah suddenly called out, surprising both of them. âAbout the jewelry design⦠When do you plan to start?â
âAs soon as possible, if thatâs okay. Do you and Ms. Burgess have any specific requests? Any ideas?â
Noah fell silent for a moment, his gaze growing complex.
âHailey has always had a penchant for designs that are understated yet graceful. As for meâ¦â He paused, as if thinking it over in his head. âAnything is fine.â
Sadieâs eyes widened slightly. She had expected someone like Patrick to have high demands for something as important as his wedding, but he was just being casual about it.
âI see,â Sadie murmured with a nod. âIâll draft a preliminary design and send it over for you to look through.â
Noah hummed in acknowledgment and said nothing else.

Sadie bid him farewell again, just to be polite, and he didnât stop her when she walked away.
Patrick shifted in his seat, his narrowed gaze fixed outside. As he watched Sadie get in the car and drive away, the strange, unknown feeling in his heart grew more pronounced.
What was that just now? Why was he always reluctant to let her go? Why did he always have this nagging sense that she was special to him?
Meanwhile, inside the car, Sadieâs thoughts were in disarray as well. She had gone to meet Patrick to secure the collaboration deal. How did she end up designing his wedding jewelry? More importantly⦠Was he really not Noah?
Even after seeing all the information on his background laid out in fine detail, Sadie couldnât shake the feeling that she was missing something. But for the life of her, she didnât know where to even begin looking.
Sadie leaned back and closed her eyes.
Tina suddenly spoke from the driverâs seat. âOh, Samuel called earlier, by the way. Mr. Castro has returned home. Should we head straight over?â
Sadie slowly opened her eyes. âSure.â
She had successfully secured the deal with the Burgess Group, and Ralph was finally back. Surely, that meant only good things ahead of her.
They arrived at Ralphâs house half an hour later.
Sadie knew the place like the back of her hand at this point. She let her feet carry her to the main hall and instantly spotted Ralph in his regal armchair.
âYouâre here, Ms. Hudson,â Samuel greeted respectfully.
Ralph looked up. His stern face broke into a warm smile the moment he saw Sadie.
âSadie, my dear! Come here,â Ralphâs voice was loud and filled with excitement.
Sadie quickly walked to his side and took his hand. âIâve missed you, Mr. Castro,â she said in a playful tone.
Unexpectedly, her words brought tears to the old manâs eyes.
Ralph had been among Sadieâs late grandfatherâs closest friends, and after Absolonâs passing, he had presumed that Absolon had no descendants.
He was overjoyed when he met Absolonâs granddaughter three years ago.
Seeing Sadie felt like seeing a very old, very good friend every time.
âI was worried about you,â Ralph confessed as he patted Sadieâs hand. âWith Noah passing away, and the company left in turmoil⦠I didnât like that you had to face it all alone,â he said, fighting back the tears.
