Chapter 680
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 680:
Eventually, Sadie found herself at a luxury handbag store.
A particular bag on display caught her eye. It looked simple yet elegant, and she could tell the design was also practical. It was just perfect for Isabel.
Sadie entered the store and pointed at the display. âIâd like to see that one, please.â
After a closer inspection, she was even more satisfied with her choice. She was just about to ask the clerk to ring it up for her whenâ
âIâll take that bag.â A sharp voice rang out from behind her.
Sadie paused and turned to see who it was.
It was Hailey. Sadie recognized her from the photos she had previously seen.
Hailey was just walking into the store, her face twisted into a look of disdain.
She hadnât expected to run into Sadie while shopping!
Sadieâs brows furrowed at the obvious hostility coming from the other woman. She had never interacted with Hailey before. Needless to say, this first impression was far from pleasant.
Even so, she was courteous.
âWith all due respect, Ms. Burgess, I chose this bag first. Itâs only fair that I take it, isnât it?â

Hailey raised an eyebrow and crossed her arms over her chest.
âFair?â she repeated, her tone more haughty now. âMs. Hudson, you should know that here in Jazmah, thereâs nothing that I canât get.â
Sadieâs expression darkened. There seemed to be an underlying message in Haileyâs words.
âMs. Burgess, I meant no offense,â Sadie remarked, not irritated but finding Hailey a bit too much. âSince youâre fond of this handbag as well, Iâll choose a different one,â she added, unwilling to make a spectacle over a purse.
She had come to purchase something for Isabel and wasnât interested in conflict.
As she spoke, she moved to set the bag down.
âHold on,â Hailey interjected sharply.
Her smirk was laced with mischief. âIâll keep this bag, but Iâm not a fan of sharing styles. Maybe you should browse somewhere else, Ms. Hudson.â
Sadieâs brows furrowed. Was Hailey intentionally picking a fight?
She lifted her head, ready to respond.
âWhatâs all this about?â A teasing male voice sounded from the entrance.
Both women turned their heads.
Sutton strolled in, linked arm-in-arm with a striking young woman.
Sadie was slightly taken aback; today just seemed cursed.
With a smirk, Sutton observed them.
âSadie, Ms. Burgessâwhat an unexpected run-in,â he said with mock cheer, his eyes darting between the two.
The lady beside him noticed the bag and clung to his arm, her expression brightening.
âSutton, this bag is stunning,â she said sweetly, her tone alluring.
Sutton glanced down at her with indulgence.
âDo you like it?â
She nodded shyly.
âIâd love to have it. May I?â she asked, tugging his sleeve. Sutton chuckled, tilting her chin with a finger.
âOf course. Itâs yours.â
He turned toward the clerk.
