Chapter 691:
He flung a thick stack of bills toward the thug leader, indifferent. The thug leaderâs eyes sparkled at the sight of the cash, his grin stretching wider.
âItâs a pleasure to work for you, Mr. Wall. Weâre always happy to assist.â With a wave of his hand, Sutton dismissed the thugs.
âGet lost.â
âYes, of course. Enjoy yourself,â the thug leader said, bowing before retreating with the others, quietly closing the door behind them.
Sutton adjusted his collar, a dark smirk playing on his lips.
âHailey⦠letâs see how long you can keep up that pure facade,â he mused.
Anticipation buzzed in his veins as he stepped into the dimly lit room. Shadows stretched along the walls, and a slender figure lay still on the mattress.
Sutton rubbed his palms together, eagerness radiating from him. With feverish impatience, he stripped off his clothes, his laughter low and salacious.
âCome on, sweetheart, drop the act. I know youâve been waiting for this. Donât think Iâve forgotten how wild you once were. Today, Iâll make sure you have the time of your life.â
He lunged toward the bed, but just as he did, the person stirred. Sadie felt feverish, her mind clouded and her senses blurred.
She shifted, tugging at her collar in a bid to cool down.

That slight movement made Sutton freeze in place.
His muscles tightened as he finally saw the womanâs face in the faint glow.
It wasnât Hailey. It was Sadie!
Shock slammed into him, snuffing out any previous desire.
He recoiled, stumbling away from the bed, terror flooding his veins. How was this possible? How did Sadie end up here? He had clearly instructed the thugs to bring Hailey! Suttonâs mind reeled in frantic confusion.
As he glanced down at his disheveled clothes, disgust rolled through him.
He had almost laid hands on Sadieâmistaking her for Hailey.
The thought alone made him sick.
Without delay, he yanked his pants back on, fumbling as panic overtook him.
His only goal now was to get the hell out of there.
Outside, the thugs lounged, grinning smugly.
When Sutton emerged so quickly, they exchanged knowing looks, assuming heâd already indulged. Their faces lit up with excitement.
âMr. Wall, done already? Want some company? We promise youâll enjoy it even more,â the leader joked.
Suttonâs fury exploded at his words.
His eyes blazed as he slammed a vicious kick into the leaderâs gut.
âShut up, you idiot!â
The thug doubled over, stunned.
âMr. Wall, whatâs wrong?â
Sutton, breathing heavily, pointed furiously toward the room. âI said to snatch Hailey! Open your damn eyes and look who you delivered!â
Confusion swept over the group.
Hadnât they grabbed Hailey? The womanâs figure matched, and theyâd cross-checked with the photo. How could there have been a mix-up?
The men exchanged uneasy glances, utterly rattled.
Sutton was livid, his entire body shaking with anger.
âYouâre worthless! A bunch of goddamn idiots! You canât even handle a simple task! What on earth am I even paying you for?â
