Chapter 730
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 730:
Just then, Samuel quietly returned to her side.
âMs. Hudson, everythingâs arranged. Mr. Castro and Tina have settled comfortably.â
Sadie nodded lightly, reluctantly pulling her eyes from Noah and Averiâs carefree scene back to Samuel.
She lowered her voice, her expression solemn. âI need you to quietly look into Suttonâs disappearance.â
This didnât bear the hallmarks of Coyleâs methods; Suttonâs sudden absence felt too peculiar. She wasnât particularly worried for Sutton himself, but Coyle and his family were too scheming. Better safe than sorry.
Samuel immediately caught her drift. âConsider it done, Ms. Hudson.â
He turned swiftly to leave but hesitated after a few steps, remembering another matter.
âOh, and Mr. Castro mentioned heâs planning a barbecue tonight at the resortâs outdoor area. He asked if youâd care to join him.â
At the word âbarbecue,â Averiâs ears perked up instantly. Abandoning the water gun mid-game, he dashed over and wrapped his small arms around Sadieâs arm, peering up eagerly through his water-slicked bangs.

âMommy, barbecue! I want barbecue, please!â
Sadie laughed softly, affectionately tousling his damp hair. Almost instinctively, her gaze wandered to Noah, who had already paused his game, apparently overhearing Averiâs enthusiastic pleas. Though the mask concealed his features, Sadie sensed his curious gaze lingering on her, as if he was awaiting her decision.
Before she could reply, Noah took a step toward her, his rich voice playfully smooth, carrying a subtle, inviting undertone. âWhy not? It sounds enjoyableâthe more, the merrier.â
Noah, to everyoneâs surprise, had no objections to participating in the group activity. Perhaps the memory loss had altered his disposition. Sadie pushed aside her thoughts and simply nodded. Averi instantly lit up. âYes! Time for barbecue!â
That evening, the resortâs outdoor grilling area glowed under bright lights. The air was filled with the enticing scent of sizzling meat. Sadie sat in her wheelchair, with the ever-energetic Averi by her side. Across from them, Blaine and Tina focused on flipping the skewers over the fire. Isabel, valuing her peace and quiet at this stage in life, had retired to her room early.
Blaine grabbed a skewer of grilled chicken wings, handed it to Averi, and took a long drink from his beer bottle. âDidnât expect to see everyone here,â he commented, his eyes eventually settling on Noahâmore specifically, on the silver mask covering his face.
âHey, Mr. Noel, itâs not often we get a chance to unwind. Doesnât that mask get annoying?â Blaine teased. âWhy not take it off? Weâre all familiar faces.â He smirked, dragging out his words. âOr are you hiding something?â
His remark was direct. Sadieâs chest tightened. She shot Blaine a sharp look, silently signaling him to drop it. âMr. Noel just prefers to keep a low profileâunlike you, always demanding attention,â she said coolly.
Before Blaine could respond, Tina snatched a freshly grilled beef skewer and shoved it into his mouth. âJust eat! Why do you talk so much?â Blaine, mouth full, mumbled something incoherent but didnât take offense.
Laughter rippled through the group, restoring the lighthearted atmosphere.
As everyone laughed and enjoyed the rare moment of leisure, Blaineâs phone rang on the table. The name âCoyleâ flashed on the screen. Blaine arched an eyebrow, amusement flickering in his gaze. That cunning old fox was certainly impatient. Casually, he picked up the call, pressed the speaker button, and leaned back.
