Chapter 779
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 779:
She didnât believe for a second that Brileyâs so-called sacrifice had been genuine.
And the media storm? It was far too consistent to be organic.
Normally, attention would have faded overnight.
But this narrative was gaining momentumâclearly orchestrated by someone behind the scenes.
Suppressing the coverage would spark suspicion, but letting it escalate could tarnish the companyâs image.
A delicate dilemma.
Sadieâs lips curled faintly in ironic amusement.
Since Briley was so invested in putting on a showâand clearly had helpâit would be foolish not to make the most of it.
Returning to her desk, she pressed the intercom.
âSamuel, come to my office.â
A knock followed shortly, and Samuel entered.
âMs. Hudson.â
Without looking up, Sadie spoke, her fingers tapping rhythmically on the table.
âReach out to Starlight Entertainment. I believe theyâre currently looking for new faces.â
Samuel paused briefly, and then a flicker of understanding passed through his eyes.
âYes, maâam. Iâll handle it right away.â
He didnât ask questions; he simply bowed slightly and exited.
Sadie gathered her materials, picked up a folder containing a contract, and left. Roughly thirty minutes later, she arrived at a quiet suburban residence. Upon entering, she immediately spotted Hailey slouched on the sofa, dressed casually and looking visibly worn.
The moment Hailey saw her, she sprang up, eyes full of resentment.
Since the night before, Noah had hardly said a word to her. He had kept his distance, cold and detached.

She knew exactly why. He blamed herâfor holding him back when Sadie was in danger.
Even when facing death, the only person heâd thought to protect⦠had been Sadie. But how could anyone be sure who the attacker was really after? What if Noah had been the target? Was it so wrong to shield her own husband?
Still, he refused to see it that way. He believed she had done it deliberately.
And all of this was because of Sadie!
Haileyâs breathing quickened. The sight of Sadie standing thereâserene, untouchedâmade fury claw at her chest.
