Chapter 834
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 834:
âApologies for keeping you waiting, Mr. Noel,â he said, stepping forward. âMs. Hudson gave us her instructions earlier today. With regard to the construction of the factory in the east of the city, the Wall Group will fully delegate the responsibility to Mr. Castro moving forward.â
Noahâs eyes darted up and landed heavily on Samuel.
âWhat does Ms. Hudson mean by doing this? Sending a flippant general manager to oversee such a crucial project? Does she think the Burgess Group isnât worth her personal attention? What does she take us for?â
Despite the calm in his tone, the underlying threat was there.
Samuelâs face showed a hint of unease.
He had expected that Patrick would be difficult to deal with, but that didnât make his task any easier.
He braced himself and relayed the rest of Sadieâs message.
âYou are misunderstanding, Mr. Noel. Thatâs not what Ms. Hudson thinks at all. She did say that if the Burgess Group has any objections to the current arrangement, you are free to terminate the existing partnership at any time.â
Noahâs hands clenched around the armrests of his chair. He used so much force that his knuckles turned white.
Was Sadie really going to such lengths just to avoid him?
That inexplicable irritation rose in his chest again.
Noah fixed his narrowed gaze on Samuel, his voice growing colder with every word.
âWhere is Sadie?â
Samuel bravely met his stare, though he inwardly groaned in helpless frustration.
He shook his head and answered truthfully,
âMs. Hudson flew to Beversea early this morning. Thereâs an important collaboration project with Johnson Group that requires her presence. She likely wonât be back for a few days.â
Noahâs chest tightened even further.

He stood abruptly.
âSince Ms. Hudson isnât here, the collaboration can wait until she returns.â
He didnât wait for either man to respond and exited the room with long, resolute strides.
Samuel and Blaine exchanged a glance as Noah left, both a little confused.
Blaine cupped his chin, his carefree expression giving way to a pensive one.
Patrickâs attitude toward Sadie was clearly⦠special.
Only then did he realize that Patrick had completely ignored him. Not once had he acknowledged his presence.
