Chapter 98
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 98:
A line of tension formed on Noahâs lips, his eyes briefly flaring with anger. Instead of releasing Sadie, he pushed her wrists deeper into the mattress.
âYouâre my wife,â he said, his words tight with anger. âI wonât stand by and let you get involved with Alex and betray me. Youâre not leaving this house until you sever all ties with him.â His voice was quiet but menacing.
Disbelief clouded Sadieâs face as she looked up sharply. âAre you imprisoning me?â
Noah remained silent, his cold stare warning her of the seriousness of his intent.
He then stood and exited, his tall silhouette casting a long shadow across Sadie. The door closed with a loud thud, making Sadieâs heart jump.
She instinctively reached for her phone to seek help, but it was missing.
Then it hit her. Noah had tossed her phone into the lake.
Completely cut off, Sadie felt helpless.
She rose and moved toward the window.
From the window, Sadie observed the security guards, clad in black uniforms, positioned firmly at the villaâs base, vigilant and unyielding. Their presence effectively imprisoned her within the villaâs walls, eliminating any possibility of escape.
Retreating to the bed, Sadie felt the mattress envelop her like the confining bars of a cell. What was she meant to do?
Fury consumed her, especially after Noahâs rough handling had compressed her abdomen, causing increasing pain.
Sharp, consistent pains began to wrack her body. Beads of cold sweat emerged on her forehead as her complexion faded to a stark white.
Curled into a tight ball on the bed, Sadie shook uncontrollably.
As she wept, tears silently drenched her pillow.

âMy darling,â she murmured, her lips trembling as she spoke so softly it was almost a breath. âNot now⦠If your father discovers our secret, weâll be in dangerâ¦â
Clasping her stomach, she tried to form a barrier to protect her unborn child.
The relentless harshness of Noah, compounded by Kylaâs sharp words and relentless setbacks, had drained her completelyâboth body and soul.
She didnât know how much longer she could hold on.
Yet, she clung to one clear purpose: safeguard her unborn child.
That child represented her only beacon of hope.
Despite the hours passing, the ache in her abdomen persisted relentlessly.
Gradually, Sadieâs surroundings blurred as weariness and pain clouded her consciousness.
She cried until fatigue overtook her and she drifted into a deep sleep.
Meanwhile, Noah brooded in his office, the golden whiskey in his glass catching the light as he moved, mirroring his troubled mood.
Sadieâs defiant words tormented him, echoing in his mind.
âWho does she think she is, telling me she doesnât love me anymore?â he muttered, scoffing as he swallowed his drink. Despite the warm trail it left, his anger remained unquenched. âAs if her words could affect me. Absurd!â
With a forceful gesture, he set the glass down, its clink resounding in the quiet room.
Suddenly, he grabbed his phone and dialed Samuelâs number.
âBring Kyla to Myrtlewood Estate immediately,â he instructed, his voice cold and detached.
Samuelâs voice came through the phone, laced with uncertainty. âWhy? Myrtlewood Estate was meant to be a haven for you and Mrs. Wall. Isnât it wrong to have Miss Wade move in? Mrs. Wall would be devastated if she knew.â
