Chapter 1109
Mr. Kane Got Blacklisted
Lindi complained, âAre you riding this wave too? Do you even need it?â
Nicole glanced at her and shot back, âArenât you always telling me to not offend others? They approached me, so shouldnât I appreciate that?â
Lindi was at a loss for words. She thought, âShe never listens when she should and always listens when she shouldnât.â
Meanwhile, Bella, having received Nicoleâs positive response, quickly composed a congratulatory tweet for Nicoleâs award-winning show and eagerly awaited Nicoleâs reply.
After approximately thirty minutes, Tammy stumbled upon Nicoleâs freshly posted tweet and exclaimed excitedly,â Nicole tweeted!â
Bella hurriedly asked, âWhat did she post? Did she tag me?â
Tammyâs mouth twitched slightly as she checked.
Noticing Tammyâs silence, Bella furrowed her brow and inquired, âWhatâs wrong?â
Tammy brought her phone in front of Bella, who took a look and felt her anger rise, almost leaving her breathless.
Nicole had shared a screenshot of Tammyâs request for social media interaction, accompanied by the caption:â Done.â
This wasnât interaction at all; it was pure humiliation. Nicoleâs tweet felt like a sarcastic remark, implying that despite Bellaâs popularity, she was still begging for Nicoleâs attention. It seemed as if Nicole was intentionally trampling on Bellaâs pride.
Fueled with fury, Bella swiftly deleted her earlier congratulatory tweet about Nicoleâs award and unfollowed her.
Meanwhile, Keegan was still absent for lunch, leaving Stella feeling a bit bored at home. After finishing her meal and taking a brief rest, she decided to head upstairs to the workout room and hop on the treadmill for a jog. She hadnât been running for long when her phone rang, causing her to immediately step off the treadmill and anxiously answer the call.
âHello, Cordelia.â
Cordelia sounded worried, âStella, Sevin is missing!â
Stella paused for a moment and quickly responded, âDid it perhaps hide at the bottom of the pond? Try tempting it with some food. Itâs quite the glutton, so itâs bound to show up.â
Sevin was a golden koi fish residing in Cordeliaâs pond. Cordelia had acquired it along with Keeganâs grandfather when they moved into the estate, and it had been a resident of the pond ever since. Sevin measured around ninety centimeters in length and weighed over thirty pounds.
Remarkably, it was even older than Keegan. The fish appeared plump and robust.
Among all the pets Cordelia owned, Sevin held a special place in her heart, second only to Juno.
It seemed highly unlikely that such a large fish could just disappear, so Stella thought there was a good chance that Sevin had hidden itself.
However, Cordelia insisted, âNo, no matter how many times I call for it, Sevin doesnât come out.
Baldwin just used a net to catch all the other fish, and theyâre all there except for Sevin. Someone must have stolen it!â
âI find it hard to believe that someone could easily steal a big fish like Sevin,â Stella replied.
âThen do you think it could have jumped out of the pond on its own and wandered off?â Cordeliaâs desperation was evident.
Stella had never encountered a situation like this before.
âCordelia, when was the last time you saw Sevin?â
âIt was there yesterday morning!â Cordelia replied in extreme anxiety. âCould it have transformed into a human and run away?â
Cordeliaâs statement left Stella momentarily speechless.
Attempting to calm Cordeliaâs worries, Stella suggested,â Let Baldwin check the surveillance footage.
Iâll give Keegan a call and ask him about it.â
After concluding the conversation with Cordelia, Stella stood on the second-floor terrace and dialed Keeganâs number. As she waited for him to answer, her gaze absentmindedly fell upon the yard below, where she caught sight of a plump, golden fish swimming in the pond.
Stella was taken aback once again, finding herself at a loss for words.
